Raja Sen get a life..
by lalit jha on May 24, 2010 12:39 AM

I think you are in a wrong profession.. I can't make out of the reason of your bias..

Its deifinately 3-1/2 out of 5 kind of movie. You need to review Bengali movies and sometimes for change Bhojpuri movies. Get a good bath and a life..

Kites is great experiment, go with the flow, watch it again. Its more for international audience but if you are addicted to b-grade bollywood movies then for sure its not for you to comment..

are they fooling us

The movie was just amazing. Yes amazing in the sense that this is the first movie I have watched which didn’t have anything which I could say was good. The movie gave me a headache and I feel like klling the guys who are fooling us by making such crap movies and hypng it.. First it was MINK and now this crap. There is no story, no comedy nothing.
Pls don’t belive the reviewers specially Rajeev masand who has given 3 stars still I cant believe he has given 3 stars maybe they bought him over.
The movie deserves no rating at all bcoz when U have all best resources and u fail to deliver there are no excuses.

well if you are expecting a masala story then I think you should start seeing movies like Houseful. Its a beautiful love story and its subtle (real love stories are subtle in their emotions - people dont cry or dance around or sing all the time).
And referring to Raja Sen - who the hell is he to comment on Hrithik's americanized accent. People who have lived long in the USA yet have lived in the USA after age 12-13 tend to speak the way how HR spoke in the film. Its as funny as an American telling an Indian that he/she is not speaking with the proper Hindi accent.

Mr. Arindam, respect your views..but his accent really was a mystery to me. If he, as you claim has stayed in US for this long, then his accent shouldn't have been so fake-it is almost how some of us here in india speak while trying to put on a fake american accent

by intekhab alam on May 23, 2010 08:11 PM

Raja Sen should start reviewing Begali films instead of Hindi films ..a film can be hit or flop but without any shadow of doubt Hrithik is the most talented actor of all time in indian cinema and he is undoubtly in todays time the best dancer no can match his skills, even Amitabh had many flops due to bad selection of the movie and most importantantly due to bad direction like the one i forget the name of the movie directed by Ram Gopal Verma

Most bollywood movies have no stories or do not make any sense, so no point in criticising this movie if it lacks these qualities. So the only thing that matters is, is it entertaining enough??

So you think Kollywood, tollywood etc have stories? One man fighting a hundred armed goons! Glorifying rowdyism, breaking into a song dance routine to appease front bencher's, get into titillating scenes to get the audience interested, show temple and Pooja scenes and call it a movie? Sad hypocrites... You need a brain to appreciate the movie and feel the essence of the movie and not search for stories and plots that are well layed out, explain every bit of information because you are too brain dead to figure out anything by yourself. Every now and then if a movie comes that requires you to understand, you get wet in your pants and get the South-Indian-Movies-Are-The-Best tag line and scream on a forum like the illiterate fool that you are.

Kites a brave experiment to penetrate west audience beyond NRI's

Kites a brave experiment to penetrate west audience beyond NRI's.
Normally Hollywood movies also don't have any stories only stunning stunts scenes and cinematography makes movie Hit.
Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori is impressive. Very good effort as compare Hollywood Movies.

Kites...hit in USA!
by Deepak Bharatiya on May 23, 2010 05:12 PM  | Hide replies

My cousin from LA worte to me that Kites Movie rating flies high in Hollywood skies. The Patriotic Indians in USA are thrille...as they never expected what the Hindi movie did in Hollywood film arena. The movie was well received by critics and normal theater goers equally and became one of the most reviewed Bollywood film. Kites music has also been appreciated by the viewers. Kites action scenes are one of the thrilling and eye catching.

Kites box office collection is huge in USA and is good indication of success of the movie.
His American female and male collegues from his IBM office who had joined him to watch Kites just for fun sake told him...Hrithik Roshan is a great looking brilliant actor...he will rule Hollywood....they were in love with him.cheers!

Don't exaggerate. The reviews are good in US but box office collection are below par in US. checkout boxofficindia & boxoficemojo sites for actual figures.

Your cousin Worte? wrote you? I mean is she sending you letters by kites? And what that had to do with being "Patriotic Indians". That means people who dont like kites are not "Patriotic"? Below are the figures for your satisfaction from your USA -
Kites - Friday - $160,000
MNIK - Friday - $446,645
Housefull - Friday - $230,000

That speaks a lot about your comment :)

My cousin in Americasaid that when Hrithik spoke in that annoyingly ugly Indian English accent in the film trailers,to which a normal American accent guy,it sounds like 'tot'tot'tot'tot' Please desis stop embarassing south asian community everywhere in the world, with your lame accented English,it stinks.
