Amit Kumar has a good voice but it has some limitations in range. At times on high notes his voice becomes flat especially when he tries to mimic his father. Though he had the talent but little hard and serious work would had made him much better singer. His father was not trained but was gifted with a voice which had the range very few can have. He used to sing from his heart and used to put emotions in the songs which has made them lasted so long.
Its pity that none of the legendary singer Kishore, Rafi & Mukesh's Sons had not been able to make a mark with their singing as their fathers as they tried to be their father. No two people can be alike. They should had developed their own styles.

Can you please explain giving examples, where you felt his voice felt flat.
To counter you I can give an example in the form of Roz Roz ankhon tale, where even in high notes he sings really well...Infact his part is better than Asha'a part.

Amit indeed mimics his father on stage shows, as people want to hear Kishore rather than Amit, which is fine.
He has a distinct effort to be different to Kishore, if you hear songs like Tapori from Baaghi, or Tip Tip baarish or even Laila main laila....
He is a very versatile singer, with great range, inherited from the greatest.
Obviously incomparable to his father, but nonetheless, better than any singer of his genre and generation.
Sadly, he could not lead a disciplined life and concentrate on music,
if you attend any of his live shows, you will understand what I mean.

Amit kumar, Suresh Wadkar, Shailendra singh all are good 'Original' singers but xerox copies like Shabbir kumar, Mohd Aziz and Kumar Sanu were more successfull commercially.. it was really painful listen Sanu as Big B's voice in Suryavansham..

is that be-sura contestant related to you by any chance ? or else, nothing justifies your outburst against AK. ppl like AK do need certificates from clowns like u, those who are even remotely into music are capable of understanding AK's capabilities.

if kumar sanu sings through his original voice might be he will shine. In Hindi films all male voice are horrible and intolerable. I do not know as to how female playback singers sing alongwith these night singers (after booze)?
