Just like a country gets the politicians it deserves, we get that image because we desrve it. Look at israel. They never have image issues. The Jewish lobby would have killed US ...

In that film, Zohan was like a superhuman who does not wear skullcap....If somebody would have mocked Jews about their characters, then all the jews of the world would have seen a Hitler ghost in him.....Anti-Semitism....Anti semitism...would be the cry......
In Zohan, though the film is funny....nowhere the personal abilities of a Israeli was questioned and Adam Sandler's antics were purely imaginary.....
Especially when we have our own countrymen making fun of our own people. Like Bollywood showing people from south to be dark and too rigid speaking with a weird accent and then making fun of the color or showing sikhs or punjabi's as dumb and loud or NRI's as some sort of ultra-modernized people with no values or morals or even rich people as approgant and poor people as " too nice" to be true.No offense to anyone but we need to see in the mirror before accusing others. Its a comedy show or a spoof, they did it to sarah palin or bush or hillary clinton, whats the big deal
Feel pi-ssed off with this stereo typing, those who saying its okay in the name of do not understand that the shows like this and movies like slumdog basically makes an average foreigner think that India is like that. Yes average foreigner is not educated enough to know India is more than just slums and call centres and they base their image of our country on what they see. I live outside India and find it frustrating when people walk up to me and ask if slumdog was 100% reality. Maybe in reply one of the smart ass reader would say, "hey you should then come back".. but the point here is that media should not help maintain a stereo type image even in the name of humour rather show the positive side of the country too
about fellow Indians. One look at the bollywood "hits" makes you feel as though PUNJABI is the national language. Northies make fun of South Indian movie heroes as fatsos and what not. Let us stop acting touchy and as someone said take comedy in its right spirit.
Must be the most ultra-sensitive people in the whole world. This from a nation where a leader wears a garland of 1000 rupee notes in a state where so many do not make 1000 a month.
What about all the idiotic sterotyping in Bollywood? Only the Indians have values while the goras don't.
Get a freaking life and look in the mirror first, before accusing others.

And WHEN WILL Indians stop worrying about how they are portrayed on some silly American TV show? Do you need America to give you a certificate about Indians? Sad.
>> It's a shame, because Jude should know better. In 2007 the British actor and his then girlfriend Kim were took a romantic vacation to India
And now he knows all about the country???
Remember Spillberg's "Temple of the Doom" - that's how much average American knows about India. Oh, sorry, they also know about - Mumbai and Bangalore - where all the call centers are...

American sense of humor is pretty dense... they can't grasp anything finer than on your face comedy... hence Ravish's p.r.o.s.t.i.t.u.t.i.o.n to make his roji-roti...

i think tamil people suffer from inferiority complex and thats y they try to divide people as north indian and south indian..,secondly no other state like karnataka or AP complains that outsiders are imposing their language ..

I am not a tamilian, but surely that complex if it is there, have been generated due to the actions from fellow northies, forget to mention that tamils have the best in every field from space, science to cinema...
Why they should listen all the shit from northies
Give respect to your fellow Indians, and then ask for respect

from both of ur comments, any sane person can presumably confirm that there is no difference between north indians as defined by you and you both.

Actually, if u look carefully, the smart indians go to USA for higher studies, the average ones gets split between Australia and UK. BTW, even the rich ones also go to UK & Aus. So pick your region and fight...
