Sikhs are shown in bad light or as clowns by Bollywood movies. This is pure racism against this patriotic community. Bollywood and media should first learn to show some respect to the innocent sikh community then point fingers on americans. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones on others.
See any american sitcom. They make fun of everybody. Even Aemricans- Rich, Poor, Middele class. Just about everybody is a fair game. Even if it is Jesus, there will be fun around him. Nothing to be offended about.
Go to USA, U will find more Americans marrying indians than Indians marrying Indians from different backgrounds. My suggestion to the author of this crappy piece is to laugh and forget it.

'Go to USA, U will find more Americans marrying indians' highly hyped up statistics but take care(those type of things are more fantasy and higly harsh in reality!) , there is more to it than just that!

thats the start of the big screwup of second generation indians in the US . Take care!
What is surprising is that this stereo-typing persists even today - after Bobby Jindal, Pandit, Freida Pinto - after such diverse achievements - it persists. We can only blame insufficient media management for this. Do they dare to stereo-type Muslims? Also, there is nothing wrong in aspring to be medical professionals. After all, what is the contribution of stage actors / race car drivers? Zilch.

so whats wrong in that. Atleast we have a image that we are not born terrorist. We have scientist, engineers , doctors which are the best in world. We are creating a platform for our coming generation and i believe sports will be next where Indians will be ahead

basically he wants to say that his ancestors were not part of the genocide of millions all over the world , did not start lot of wars , did not divide and rule and he is feeling sad about it :)
I live in Canada and can say this about Indian people living here. Even Indian kids born here want to just become medical professionals. Doctors Dentists chiropractors etc. They do not want to be olympians, actors, race car drivers, hockey players. Go to a spelling bee competition and therewill be Indian kids.

sir, it all is based on our genes/race. Of course there are exceptions, but generally Indians, if we view them as a race, are not physically strong/capable people and they know their this limitation.

its your delusion...more people live here doing physical hard core labour than doing desk jobs or university/lab research activity... we as "third world" population is required to do that.....look beyond the surface ....mentally and physically we are strong...maybe you can talk about you and your own abilities, who has less of belief and seeks more external validation (in the garb of science and genes/race)from books, tv , internet and the likes, don't reflect that (your weakness) on a huge population you choose to conveniently ignore

what an evil act are they doing by wanting to become doctors who will save the lives of people and not aspiring to become actors, race car drivers...players who only have nuisance value and generally become drug addicts after the success goes into their head.!!!!!!! boy what a sham!!!!!!

Yep we indians have brains and so get into these professions. If its just showing off the physical talent then its a hobby and not a profession.

Hi there,
I do not think there is anything wrong in that.By taking these kinds of profession atleast Indians are doing real social service to the humanity.Of course they may be earning lots of money while doing so, but what will a race car drivers actual contribution to the human society at large/nothing.
Tomorrow there will be a game which talks about climbing trees & some body will say that Indians wont try this SPORT.Come on guys, wake up.

I never said it is a shame that Indian want to be Doctors. The thing is that they just want to be doctors. Parents in US have a goal to make their kids some kind of medical professionals.
About the limitations of Race like Munna Lal mentioned above, what about Chinese. They are increasing their medal tally in both summer and winter olympics.
The fact is that in US and Canada you can see Indians in malls but never when you go fishing, sailing, ski resorts or even to the beach(they feel ashmed in bikini or being Toples. They just do different things and do not mix with the local Americans or Canadians.

going in bikinis or being topless is what makes you shameful LOL!. It is Not necessarily part of mixing . Tommorrow you will tell that western people take lot of drugs in general so Indians need to take drugs to mix , then you will says do crimes to mix because crime is more part of life here , .... and so on . There is always limits to mixing with other people. If you do not obey those then you loose what and who you are.
