Star brothers, well done..
by sairadevishah on Jun 27, 2010 08:59 PM

Surya n his brother Karthik deserve this success.. have seen many of their movies.. love to see surya's shining act..we feel he is acting without much effort, but it's impact is superb.. Gajini, Vaaranam Aayiram, Ayan etc.. Surya is a blessing to Tamil movie world like Vikram.. its high time for Vijay to change his ape-styled acting and silly stories (nothing other than street dance numbers and fights)..otherwise, he will be thrown..

good times ahead for tamil cinema
by sura on Jun 24, 2010 01:17 PM  | Hide replies

with only 3 genuine hits and 2 semi-hits, it was probably a bad 1st half for tamil cinema. The second half has some sure shot winners starting with, Ilayathalapathy's "kaavalkaaran" with the charming Asin, with trade predicting "kaavalkaaran' as a potential blockbuster which would be hattrick for Vijay-asin pair after their previous 2 blockbusters, pokkiri and sivakasi. Then we have Shankar's "Endhiran" starring Ash and rajni, which purely derives it weight for director shankar's brilliant track record.kamal hassan and maddy join together with "manmadhu ambu", which is another biggie. Atleast a business of more than 120 crores can be expected from these 3 biggies.

kaavalkkaran is a reake of mallu movie body guard which turned out to b the first flop of director siddique in his career. the movie had quite an old storyline tat was told over and over nd over a million times.

all fake news

common pavithra, everyone here knows u are a big fan of surya. don't rate the flop movie singam as a hit, and my god! 40 crores?only VTV, paiyaa and Tamizh padam are genuine hits with goa, AT being above average movies. Though Suraa didn't run as expected, it garnered the biggest opening collections in chennai(record) with Rs.72 lakhs.

Sura was the biggest flop of 2010. It could manage collections only in the first week. Post reviews, collections started plummeting and the film was qucikly removed iff the screen. Poor Sun Pictures that earned decent profits in Ayan lost everything in Vettaikaran and Sura. It is now recovering with Singam collections.

mr.saxena was repeorted as lying, because even in behindwoods claimed dat ayan collected 7.34 crore in Chennai alone, and 5 crore for Vettkaran, Saxenea wuz just talkin about opening if u think vijay is king of opening then cliamed by behindwoods sura opeining wuz 88%, and singam openning wuz 92%, so get your facts right

Sura.....i acknowledge that you are an ardent fan for Vijay.

But ithu remba over.....lets agree that Vijay has given a series of flops starting from ATM, Kuruvi, Villu, Vettaikaran and now Sura.

Vijay fanaa irunthuttu poonga.....athukkaga neega Suriya, Vikram pathiellam kurai sollakkoodathu. Suriya, Vikram padam paartha oru thripthim irrukkum barring Kandaswamy and Majaa. Vijay padam paartha ippo ellam paithiyyam thaan pidikkuthu. Gilli piragu Thirupaatchi ok. Athukku appuram ellam waste. Vijaykku originality kidaiyathu......ellam remake padam than avanukku saripattu varuthu......sariyana copycat.

ARE YOU MAD??
where did u get that surya got 18 flops? and vikram onl. 9 flops?
what about Vijay? I mean, the majority of vijay's films are so bad that it is actually easier to handpick his good films from his list of 50 silly films. If you consider Vijay's film's post-Poove Unakkage (his first hit), then still you'd get 80% flop/crap films. If you look at Surya post-Nandha, only Shree, Mayavi, SOK can actually be considered as flops. Films like Aayudha Ezhutu broke-even, and recovered money, though not making much profit, hence cannot be called flops. UNDERSTAND?

Why there is no plain vanilla reporting in Box Office collections
by You See on Jun 24, 2010 10:59 AM

For One Movie they talk about the total collections w/o mentioning the cost of production and for another movie they talk about nett profit for distributors... Also we dont know the Authenticity of such BO reports be it South Indian Films or North Indian (Hindi Films in particular) Films... Overseas collections report is another mess altogether...

Bihar's are not as narrow minded as others. They think in terms of nations and not in terms of own language, own state, own film industry etc.
