It is the best movie from maniratnam. It is a movie which entertains you as well as is a thought provoking one. He has redefined the way we see ramayan. I always liked mani ratnam and santosh shivan jodi. The way the sensuousness of Indian women and the beauty of Indian forest has been captured is beyond description. people who go to the movies to see clothless mems in foreign locations" please beware, this is a standard Indian classic and not a B grade movie to cater the basic instinct of an average Indian man.These people will surely get disappointed.

Me and my frens liked this movie and wud like to recomend others to go for 'Raavan'// Superb performnce by Abhi...Ash..and Vikram..gud music...A paisa vasool movie.
9/10 Movies of Mani Ratnam has been Late pick up movies - Week one always get worst review Ex: Roja/Yuva/Bombay/Nayakan/Mouna Ragam/Anjali... But all the above moves went to become super hit. Reason 1) You cant follow most of dialogue with 1 viewing 2) Songs gets hit over period of time 3) You wantch this moves with less or no expectation they become great movies to Watch 4)1st Week you always tend to loose few crucial scenes in the early parts of the movie even if you go early due to crowds coming inside the theatre even till almost intermission you get easily distracted!! Wait & watch this movie with less or zero expecation you wont regert watching the Movie. Nevertheless these days movies hit TV ahead of Pirated Versions Recent example Kites - Think its on Air in some channel this Week!!!!
