What a stupid observation!!! The scene was taken from "The Secret Of Santa Vittoria" in which too there was no electricity. So the water was pumped up by hand or by a diesel pumpset. So what Mr rane!!

Correct. 1)It may also be that the water tank was built as a politician had promised electricity before the last elections. 2) It may also be that contract was awarded for setting up a sub station but Gabbar demanded too much hafta & the workers fled.
My be Thakur saab know the importance of Green effect since that time, also kerosene was cheap that time ;). So he is using the light bulbs only where it is needed. Ha ha ha ha...

I think Rane applied lot of brain finding this..But it is not Bloopers. There are Villages, where you have electricity for Tubewell, and they call it Power Connections. And still the village is not electrified as there is separate Budget for both the things. So it is possible to have a Power Connection with electrified village.
how can u say theres no electricity....... in sholay village there was a loudspeaker in sholay then how come no electricity......sad. mr rane...u r imaganitive but wrong....
ACTUALLY THR IS A HILL ABOVE THE TANK & THR IS A RIVER....SO PIPE LINE PLAN BY THAKUR SAAB TO PROVIDE FREE WATER FACILITY TO VILLAGE PPL...MORAL OR THE STORY,,,,NO ELECTRICITY REQUIRED....LET JAYA LIGHTING THE LAMPS
Rediff doesn't have anything creative to publish. Just remove this article immediately, we cannot hear anything being said about a wonderful movie like SHOLAY
Interesting observation by Mr. Rane. However, was it not possible to have power (electricity) only for the pumping station, and none for residential premises?
