It is sad that a controversy arose unnecessarily for getting credit for the Story of " 3 Idiots". I have read the book as well as seen the movie, so Iam in a position to comment. While the book by Chetan Bhagat is really enjoyable, the movie is only about 10-15% of the book. Leave aside these squabbles, just go out and enjoy a very clean movie.Aamir, Sharman, Boman , Madhavan,Omi Vaidya and even Kareena have acted beautifully in the movie.
CHetan bhagat's best book 'One night at the call center' was made into the movie 'hello'....cb approved of the screen play, co-wrote it infact, but just check how bad the movie is.....cb gets full credit for the book....but shall we discredit as much for the movie now?
Writing a book is very different from making a movie....some of the greatest movies in history are based on epics and books, if the movie Ramayan is good, should we praise the director or give movie's credit to Valmiki?
Most of the important and good scenes of this movie is from the book Five point some one, More than 50% of the movie is from FPS but director saying only 10% doesn't justify in any way. I read the book and saw the movie and can tell you that Chetan definitely deserved more credit for this masterpiece.

Rao, But film involves acting dialogue delivery and this is done by director.Was Chetan's bookknown so much before the film 3 idiots was relaesed.May be now his book will sell more.So who will take the benefit.Will Chetan give money to Raju ?

FPS was definitely well known book amongst youngsters soon after its release, only thing is the print media has a lesser reach amongst masses..

films and books are totaly diff ball game dear..each one deserve credit for their own work by the responce they get from different spheres of life...so chill..and relax..:)
Hit because some factors went its way. -Amir Khan -No good releases in last few months -Lots of holidays -Hype based on a movie on IIT and IIM lifestyle (ignorant were very enthusiastic in knowing what happened in IIT). I'm from IIT only so i was not interested in the movie. We used to watch lots of English series which are better than serials of Sony & Star Plus

hi Mr. R, Why r u ignoring Madhavan's explanation for not to commit suicide. Why looking at the problem alone. May be 3 idiots provide a solution to a problem very much real in our society and education system.
Moreover, if u have so much problem with showing suicides, u should also stop news papers, and tv shows, they show more than suicide, murder, rape. Save ur children, stop news paper, stop TV, and stop everything. I think 3 Idiots doesn't glorify suicide. Better to solve the problem than to ignore it.
