MNIK - FLOP in India
by Chappan Tikli on Apr 01, 2010 07:19 AM  | Hide replies

Finally the truth is out in the open. The movie is a FLOP in India - NET business in India after 5 weeks 63.5 crores.
Week 1 = 44 crores
Week 2 = 12 crores (70% crash)
Week 3 = 5 crores
Week 4 = 1.75 crores (shocking)
Week 5 = 0.70 crores

No amount of fake publicity could fool the people who rightly rejected the movie. Overall loss in India 25-30 crores.

there is no loss on the movie grow up. I see you have so much time to take on SRK you shiv sena worker. lame. This is why us American are successful because we know correct cinema and the movie is a all time blockbuster. Ill explan before you throw everyone off. boxofficeindia the official collection site and indianfm have said the movie is a hit in india. the net figure are 73 cr in india and still running. he is show a net of 63 cr. so he is taking 10 cr away from the figures. so trade analyst in India said it need 75 cr to be a super hit by the end of its run it will do that. Also, in Pakistan it has broken all records even RNBJ and 3 IDIOTS. UK and alot of oversee markets. btw you said 25 cr loss. add the 10 cr you took away and the 18 cr that star plus bought the rights for. and you will see that is 28 cr buddy. no loss profit just from INDIA. OVERSEES the movie has been called a ATBB. Currently, MNIK is the highest-grossing film in overseas markets. check wiki. also buddy with that in hand the movie is a all time blockbuster worldwide.

MNIK made us proud

It's a flawless movie... a must watch for every human being.

SRK is excellent here.

I cann't even think of anyone else playing this role with so much perfection.

But he did it.

Commertially speaking the film is super hit. As made with a good budget of 55 crore (thought sold the distribution right on 80 crore). It has earned 175 crore till 2 march

This is already a big hit. So dont bother about the earnings.

Its a serious movie on serious topic. It is not a feel good movie. I will say that this kind of subject has got the best treatment possible.

MNIK has set the benchnark for filmmaking. From here onwords we can see the rise of bollywood standards.

MNIK Dominates in International market
by shyam narayan on Mar 09, 2010 11:22 AM

MY NAME IS KHAN has earned a worldwide Gross of Rs. 192.60 crores (USD 42.5 M) with India contributing Rs. 102.2 crores and International markets recording an all-time high of Rs. 90.4 crores.
The film has also become the highest grossing Bollywood film in the Middle East at 4.3 million USD and with Jordan, Lebanon and Syria is opening tmmrw (10th March), the number is expected to go much higher.

In the UAE, MY NAME IS KHAN is tracking to become the #4 movie of all time ahead of DARK KNIGHT, TRANSFORMERS 2, SPIDER MAN 3, TWILIGHT: NEW MOON. AT FINAL COUNT, the Middle East distributors expect it to be twice of Fox Searchlight's global 2008 phenomenon SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE in this market.

In other Islamic markets too, it continues to grow and has crossed over to non-diaspora audiences. In Indonesia, for example, the film has grown from 6 to 14 screens and has seen a jump of 300% in week 3. The film has not just done the highest ever theatrical business for a Bollywood film, it has become a national phenomenon."
