Another huge Flop in India
by Chappan Tikli on Mar 09, 2010 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

Playing to near empty houses now, My Name is Khan crashed by around 80% in its weekend 2, despite not having any release issues as was the case in opening weekend. Occupancies typically ranged from 30% to 5%.

Optimistic trade analysts have pegged losses of MNIK at 20 crores minimum.

The film is the 2nd straight flop for Karan Johar after his disastrous Qurbaan and for Shah Rukh Khan it goes one further. It completes a hat trick of flops, starting with home production flop Billu in same time last year in February 2009, followed by Dulha Mil Gaya in January 2010, followed by My Name is Khan in February 2010.

What a disaster. Hahahaha

Everyone the facts like I said are out. MNIK had made a profit and is superhit now even in India. Sad how people on this site try to make fake figures up. For god sake the movie is the second highest grossing film. BTW if it was not for shiv sena MNIK would have made more money till date. SRK is perfect in the movie. the story touches your heart. Kajol is sexy as always and did a good job. 5 star movie

A cinematic perfect movie...

This is a very flawless movie. Plots are well constructed and performances are superb. I am not a big SRK fan but I have became after seing the performance. This is not the movie about religion, about dieseas but about humanity and love.

The journey took by RizwAN Khan is the soul of the movie. It shows how a simple person can overrcome all the evil forces to spread the message of love.

Strong message has been conveyed in this movie with powerpack performances by SRK & Kajol.

Honestly I am feeling very proud that India has made this movie because this is the subject has been felt by many but not conveyed, even in Hollywood.

This is a masterpiece.. A cinematic perfect movie...

After waching this movie.. Karan Johar has became my favourate director.

Losing proposition in India is always a Flop
by Chappan Tikli on Mar 08, 2010 02:18 AM  | Hide replies

MNIK costs for FOX 100 Crore including print and publicity. This cost includes only theatrical and music rights, excludes satellite and video rights. Deducting revenue of 5 Crore for music revenues, MNIK need to fetch 95 Crore for FOX just recovery. Recovery is not possible at the moment. Total remuneration worldwide would be around 120-130 Crore which will give DS of around 65-75 Crore. This will yield to Loss of 20-25 Crore. Despite of decent numbers from domestic market and very good numbers from overseas, Price tag will fail for MNIK. Losing proposition can never be termed as HIT.
