Loved her acting, loved her as a person. I remember seeing many of her wonderful movies. Was fortunate enough to attend her funeral and pay my respects to her..

She was clearly the most outstanding actress at that time and had only Shabana Azmi to equal her. She was very cute with features that were beautiful. But it is her performances that stole the show. Please watch her movie "Bhoomika". It is an epic.
i remember smita used to be such a plain looking news reader...but in her films she always gave such a smouldering peformance...Manthan blew me...at least in those days filmakers,actors had the courage to tackle controversial themes and experiment...sadly that is all lost in the avalanche that is Bollywood...Her pics a re awsome...speaking as a n amateur photog, i wish i had taken some!!
Smita patil was n will be the Actress par excellence .Nature,s gift to us .. well its a said fact ..the best will not last as god prfers them with him ...

Smita Patil was one of the finest actresses, no doubt about it. None of Hindi films nowadays can come close to her films. She was unique in her characterisation and moulded with the roles. We will continue to miss her.
