Sonil Dedhia has made a wrong review of this movie. i hve watched this movie nd the ratings i read here surprise me.. I m not sure of any political fight between rediff nd director.. but this movie really needs an applause..
Rediff, RC1 and RC2 would do a descent job if they were to review a chick-flick but would be a overkill if they were to review a strong content subject like RC1 or RC2.
Hey Rediff, Good Job, both the rediff reviewers of RC1 and RC2 are 'chick-flick' review material, It would be a overkill to use them to review strong content movies like RC1 and RC2

He'd've been driven mad by these mediocrity-obsessed, conformist & shallow minded "journalists" and "critics".
Only in India that those directors who dont flinch while depicting reality, are criticized to such an extent if they donte GET IN LINE and start showing hero-heroine doing rain songs in swiss alps.
An entire nation fanatic about chic-flicks and rubbish 2bit musicals featuring semi-naked hores-this is what defines our great "culture" in this day and age - not the ability to unflinchingly depict reality as it occurs and draw meaningful messages for the welfare of the entire society.
Them Mario Puzo, Scorcese, Tarantino are real lucky b@sturds...lucky for they arent judged by a bunch of juvenile, immature, incompetant buffoons.

Somehow this comment of mine was flagged.. apparently calling out to the emperor that hez naked, really hurts.
I've a number of Persian & Central Asian friends who were great fans of "hindi" cinema before it became degraded into "bollywood".
They told me that due to the repulsive vulgarity and unoriginality, today's bollywood is mostly watched only by their labor classes - as a substitute for soft PORN... and that our movies are virtually impossible for entire families to watch due to the vulgar costumes, dances and themes involved.
Its true about India - anyone aspiring for creativity or originality is met with blatant ridicule - as we are seeing for RGV, for instance.
His movie SATYA was not sent to oscars.. instead a nonsensical musical called JEANS was sent.
His other magnum opus (which was compared to 21st century King lear by some western critics) COMPANY wasnt sent to oscars either - instead we sent an irrational, melodramatic, tedious, unrealistic rubbish called DEVDAS to oscars - which was again rejected by the entire world as well.. silly and melodramatic.
Its only that he is of an exceptionally strong mind that he can continue working.. sometimes his quality is deteriorating purely due to how these loud mouthed vulgar critics influence him, and how they've tried their best to shatter his refined sensibilities at the altar of conformism.

Silly and melodramatic - these two words also defines our response to calamities (both manmade and natural).
The deterioration of brain cells due to watching excess of "bollywood" was plainly evident in no other time than in the aftermath of the November 26-27 ISI/D@w00d sponsored Pakistani attack of Mumbai in 2008.
Some of our bollywood fans (of the sickularpinkchuddie variety) started spouting off (based on their seemingly extraordinary intelligence, courtesy watching too many bollywood crapollas) that these attacks were the fault of "both hzxcindus and mzxclims and it could never be pzxkistanis alone".
There is no way one can critisize this film..I was not able to take a break and breath.3 hours has gone like anything and a very good message at the end. The characters are just amazing. The review is not at all fair to this type of picture. Gay people will only critize this film who loves picture like dostana...stupids..And RGV deserves a national award.a must watch film.

well said.
first, rediff made a guy or gal called kittu singh review RC-1. he/she had written the most senseless movie review ever. and now this! another debutant reviewer!
