I am a South Indian born in Maharastra. I have been watching Marathi films over a decade and I must say that Marathi movie content wise has improved a lot. Marathi movie are good in comedy no doubt. But their serious cinema is too good, like Dombivili Fast, Saat cha aat gharat, sukhaant etc. Over the years, I am confident that Marathi movies will find patron all over India.

regional language movies in south hav some gr8 actors...but most of the southie movies r masala-types..there hav been gr8 southie movies, but they number very few...i guess, in the recent times, this number has significantly gone down...but during the prime days of NTR/MGR/Rajkumar/Mohanlal, gud quality southie movies were made, but now, its all masala/sex/gory fights/etc...most hindi movies r far away from the reality...and whatever they show is more of north indian, and not Indian...ppl like SRK/Salman/Hrithik/etc, all make movies for the super-rich few...only a few like Amir Khan make gud quality watchable Hindi movies..

yes, greater in terms of acting. since NTR, MGR, RAJKUMAR, MOHANLAL and all south indian actors are over acting means loud acting. we are having better actors shriram lagoo, nilu phoote, vikram gokhake, nana patekar, smita patil, ashok saraf all are great in terms of acting compare to south indian actors.

Most of the north indian films are re make of south indian films. South indian artistes are better talented than the northern ones. You understand that first. A.R.Rahman jai ho.
