Marathi movies must be marketed aggressively. Producers and Directors of Marathi film industry must not mix the flavour with Hindi cinema and retain their own identity, similar to that of Tamil industry. For Marathi movies to be successful, adoption of new technologies, retaining the flavour and roping in leading personalities like AR Rahman, Balasubramanian, Ilyaraja would benefit the Marathi industry by enabling it come out of the "cocoon" and showcase their treasures to the world. One must nt forget to rope in Rajnikanth (alias Sivajirao Gaekwad), who is originally from Maharashtra, abandoned Bollywood and made it big in Kollywood (Tamil film industry). Surely, today Kollywood outperforms Bollywood in all aspects. Bollywood movies are nothing but candy-floss, slick and drab without much innovation. Kollywood movies, in their true regional flavour (while attracting talent from across India), are a delight to watch in many aspects. Today's Bollywood movies are nothing but a copy of either Kollywood or Tollywood movies. Even though I know Hindi, I prefer Tamil movies anyday!!! (Note: Marathi producers need to be agressive in their strategies regarding marketing and promotion).
Hence, Marathi cinema should not ape Bollywood....
Also, last but not least must add that one of my Telugu friend used to be crazzzy about Marathi movies!!!
