i think priti must have no knowledge of what a realistic cinema is. this movie is for every individual who love indian films. the fact of mill workers and the mill owners and also the polititians who not only sold the mill land by illigel methods but also sold the future of the people of mumbai.

The movie is all crap. The director and story writer think that those mill workers are so useless, they make their daughters and wives sell their bodies and the only thing their remorseless children do is to loot and beat up the people, drink beer/whisky all day and night and become gangsters. The movie is waste of time, efforts and money which I did spend and plead everyone of those who read this message should not repeat the mistake.

this is a worst review of a film i ever read.i have seen the film and believe me it is a very very good film. all credit goes to mahesh manjrekar. hats of to him.i wonder how a review writer could not judge the film correctly.

I fully agree with you Navin... The reviewer has no idea of what the legacy of this city has been... how the city flourished due to the textile industry (largest in india at that time)...
You will never be able to empathize with the people who suffered during the strikes, until you actually meet them... the mill workers and their families have received very unfair and inhuman treatment.....
Pls get your facts right before you review any film based on reality...
I've seen this movie in marathi even though i'am not maharastrian, i like this movie and much better than hindi movies produced nowadays.That preeti Arora might know nothing about what happened in past.OR she might be jeolous about success story of regional movies.

The definition of maharashtrian (atleast here in Maharashtra) is a person belonging to Marathi community ... Not based on location... a gujrathi person living here in maharashtra is not a maharashtrian!!!

My friend marathas have always blended themselves wherever they live.eg. Rajnikant,Sada etc..So here i did'nt say i'am not marathi,but i'am not maharastrian, for now i live in delhi,so i will call myself delhi'ite! is that OK.

Preeti, Why don't you go n cover Page 3 parties? It's painfully obvious that reviews are not everybody's cup of tea. Get your spellings (does/dose), facts (S Jadhav is a superstar)and fundas (review does not mean Precis Writing!) clear! Happy jobhunting:)
If you go through the review most of the things told are good only for a little bit of gore in the second half the movie should not be given 2 stars.. alas this is not one of the stammering jerk's movie to get a 4star
