Saw the movie yesterday after seeing A Wednesday for about more than 10 times. Frankly speaking it disppoints me. Unnai Polurvan lacks its pace, which is the success factor for the hindi original. The back ground score is pathethic and is very slow and dull. In the hindi version background score helped a lot in holding the audience nerves. Kamal Hassan did a good job in the movie, but cant't ever compare his acting with Nasurdeen Shah. Mohan Lal is a calm police officer. As a calm police officer he did his job good, but this calmness never suits this film. Remember the verbal explosions with Anupam and Nasurdeen in Wednesay in the climax for about 10 -15 mins. Those arguments were totally missing. We couldn't feel any sense of urgency in Mohan Lals face and body language, again it was one of the major attractions of A Wednesday. The cop Arif has done a decent job, but Sethu can't be compared with his hindi counter part "Jay". Also the dialouge's between Terrosist leader and cops were not so impressive compared to Hindi version.
Again if you are seeing Unnaipol Oruvan as a new movie, it is good; but unfortunately can't even compare that with the A Wednesday.

i thought upo little more realistic than a wednesday.wednesday is more look like a English film. No Indian official machinery can work as smooth like in a wednsday. The beaurocratic and political interference are shown very realistically in Upo.The arguements between maran and chief secretary are infact a valuable add to UPO the case is same with anpam also. He approached the cop character as a hollywood actor. ofcourse, he looks powerful, erergetic but little stiff. while mohanlal looks more natural during the tense situaltion. He uses his big fat body to the hilt. look at his facial exlpressions and hand gestures. his interaction with the journalist and sub ordinates look more convinsing. (the silent mock expression towards hacker when he spokes about his girl fried was a classic).personnely i thought mohanlal looked more intense than anupam. while anupam stands there like a iron rock, lal expresses all his emotion through the bodylanguage. most is liked is his indianness in acting. now kamal. It is very difficult to exeed the performance of naseer. It was such an intense performance. but you cant say kamals was an inferior performance even thought i also thought nasseer was little more intence. naseed exactly looked a commonman, while kamal an intellectual. the age, makeup, clothing all influenced the looks.

you may not be a tamilian to undersand the tamil dialogues. instead of facial &body languages you expect, the dialogues are sharp.

i don't think lal's police officer is calm in body language and dialogues..he acted better than anupem kher. Anupam kher is nowhere near lal. kamal and shah have different acting styles. i like bothe of them in different way

some people will go to theatre to watch only KUTHU, so it is better to Omit those guys going to theatre and spoil the gripping atmosphere watching in big screen.... Pavithra has done a excellent option by giving the storyline to side those people out.. We should appreciate that..
I saw the movie yesterday and also watched Wednesday many times in hindi. I am big die hard fan of Kamalhassan.
I noticed few logical points not taken care;
1. in the starting Mohanlal says that the incident happen 15 yrs before... ok...if the story is about 15 yrs back...
How come the movie talk about 9/11 ? how come the movie talk about mumbai attack? How come mobile used 15 yrs before? Kamal using reliance sim cards in the movie, Reliance mobile launched only on 2000, how come 15 yrs before ? Finally , how the comman man set up the bomb Jeep in airport area? who help him? No answer.

Mohanlal says 15 years back he donned the role of Police commissioner and till yesterday he was the commissioner of police in chennai- My friend watch it carefully !!

Kamal is not a man a original thinker, lots of his acting skills are copied from other greats, still worse he is such a bad film maker with shallow ideological values. He thrusts himself on the tamil people his shallow thinking but for his fan base he is a biggest disappointment and embarrassment from TAMILNADU.

think before u reek out such illogical comments in public. he copies from people?? this is like saying sachin tendulkar has copied his strokes from yusuf pathan. 10 roles in dasavatharam, a dwarf in aboorva sagotharargal, a woman in avvai shanmugi, and mind blowing acting in movies like anbe sivam, kuruthi punal, devar magan and so on.. can anyone equal his dialogue delivery?? movies like panchathanthiram, PKS, thenali, michael mathana kamarajan etc r a laugh riot.. know what u r talking mate!!

We Cannot Compare Mohanlal with Kamal. Both of them are top actors and performed very good roles number of times. Mohanlal is more reallistic in his roles and Kamal is too as an "actor"
As everybody knows in the whole world our Tamil movies are famous for own make films. I am really ashamed we people copied this Hindi movie. Ulaganayagan Kamal avoid remake movies however good it is.

The movie 'A wednesday' carries a great message. And Kamal wanted to convey those messages to a wide audience down south. Thats the major intension of making this movie. Thats y he called Mohanlal to act in Tamil version so that the movie will get a good audience in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Same way he caste Venkatesh in Telugu to reach out to good crowd in Andhra. And ofcourse all of them did justice to the original version.
it seems like an ordinary movie. without songs and it ends in 2 hours...as it is a police and thief subject, I xpected like anjathey...but it is not so good..

I had a feeling of watching a movie after interval. I expected a strong story from the first but i am disappointed.

i think the only reason,this movie sounds not so good to some body is, becuase - the turning point of kamal bein the bomb planter is shown in first scene itself,instead of in middle like in the hindi movie. i dont why they wanted to make this change.without that change,this would hae been a top grosser.
This type of movie must be banned.Kamal is saying that the Movie has a Strong message.Take law in hand is fooling the entire judosury. No one is allowed take law in hand .

First terrorist who are caught should be banned by Judiciary to Put before them,, and put them directly to HELL Senso,, talk with sense,,, Entertaintment is entertainment Whether films made to change the people minds and if any body is changing??,, it is been made to entertain you for 2 to 3 hours leaving from the hussle/buzzle.. it is upto you to take the message or leave the 100 bucks in theatre counter..
