I was really anticipating this movie, like most everyone else. And since this filmed sucked so bad i'm still anticipating it! I would love to see a good director throw this out and remake the whole thing. I was looking forward to the movie playing out the emotion and intensity that the book offered.

New Moon

If you would like to get down to it New Moon was horrible not because of the plot line, but because of the director! A series should flow together, and feel like an extension of the last. This movie was so different it's ridiculous. I LOVE the books and am a fan of the Twilight movie. My only complaint was that the first one was too short. This one was had terrible angles, too much spinning, the wrong music, the wrong atmosphere, too much recasting, there were too many stupid jokes and not enough explanation into the flow of the scenes. If you didn't read the book you would be missing out on how everything comes together. Also the vampires are supposed to able to blend in with the humans and I'm sorry but the new contacts lenses make the look too different. I miss the green that engulfs Twilight, like in the book. The constant birds tweeting just don't cut it. Come back Catherine I miss you! Your understanding of the feelings, atmosphere and flow and perfect and the new director ruined all your hard work.

I loved the movie
by Guest on Nov 22, 2009 08:55 AM

I am stunned by the bad reviews. I am an avid reader. I am also not a child. I am a 32 year old woman and I must say I absolutely Loved this movie. I was actually let down by Twilight. I thought that movie looked cheap ( like a B movie ) I thought the special effects in New Moon were amazing. I think Kristin is perfect for the part of Bella and came acroos exactly as she does in the book. Jacob was as lovable as ever. I am shocked by all these bad reviews. I actually started questioning myself wondering if I watched the same movie that these critics are talking about. I say if you haven't seen the movie yet, give it a try and decide for yourself!!

I dunno.... :(

I wish the director hadn't been changed. The movie almost seemed detatched from the first. The music itself was a character of it's own in Twilight. However the music (besides a few good songs shoved in there) was a huge letdown! Much too Harry Potter-ish! What was the director thinking???? Come back Katherine!!!

I honestly.... as a fan, was let down... The critic was right when he said the film ended up looking cheap... The only awesome part of the movie was when the Wolf Pack morphed into wolves.... The rest was bad acting and cheap contacts... Chris Weitz shoudlve taken notes from Catherine Hardwicke.... What a let down is all i have to say.....

READ THE BOOK

I think if someone wants to write a legitament review on this movie you should read the book first. I think the movie flowed wonderfully with the book. I LOVED IT

"It's also sillier, sloppier and stupider than its predecessor. (Example: one character decides to kill himself because of a misunderstanding over the phone. Yes, his name is Jack Tripper.)"

It's a little more complicated than that. The phone call was to back up what he had already been told and it seemed to do that for him. If you are a fan of the books, you will be a fan of this movie. I thought it was great and was surprisingly impressed.

Make up your minds...

Why is it that when "Twilight" came out people complained that it didn't stay true to the book so Chris comes out with a pretty good version of "New Moon" that stays close to the book and people complain? What do you want?? Like people have said, it's hard to fit an 800 page book into a 2 hour movie. I wish people would just make up their minds. As for the fact that the Cullens weren't in the movie much, like Edward, that was what made the book good. You felt the hurt and longing Bella had and then when he returned you were super happy. I felt the movie did just that. If you like the books then stay in your "book only" fantasy world and let the rest of us enjoy the movies because obviously they will never live up to your expectations. Personally, I loved the movie and I thought Chris did great. At least there were no "Spider Monkey" lines. I will see it again and buy the dvd. But this is just MY opinion. Good job Chris!

MisUnderstood
by Guest on Nov 21, 2009 02:21 AM

I feel that New Moon was only as good as it's book and that it is very hard to condense 800 pages into 2 hours. The special effects were good and the actors played the characters well. I think critics need to understand that New Moon is the least favorite book in the series for most readers. I expected that the movie would be my least favorite.
The critics also should focus on how with the fanbase being so dedicated we would be glad to sit through a longer movie in order to save much of the original story from hitting the editing room floor! My only complaint is that we did not get a lot of the suspense and actual feeling, that we the fans experienced during reading the book once the film was condensed and edited.

Loved It

I fell in love with NEW MOON just like I did the TWILIGHT movie. After reading the whole series about 4 times, and watching Twilight about 13, I was just as satisfied with NEW MOON. Its not a movie who just want to go out and watch a movie without knowing the plot of the story, which is obviously what the critics are doing. I am glad they kept it very close to the book...they obviously can't put everything into a movie or do it word for word because it would be way to long, but the story is there and now I can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it over and over.
