One side of the fence, you have Rajnikanth, Shahrukh Khan, Mamooty, Aamir Khan, Rajesh Khanna, Dilip Kumar etc. etc. and THEN there is one and only Amitabh on the other side. Period.

agreed boss, still u tell me who won the best actor award most of times (national awards not filmfare) ther kamal and mammotty beat all, without seeing their films its unfare to comment like this, i watchd all amitabh ,kamal and mammotty films , amitabh is better than other bollywood actors , but never greater than mammotty or kamal, he is more popular agree , but its bcz of the popularity of the language he speak(hindi) in world if u count Churchs are more than temples , but it does not mean Christains are great and hindus are fools. same way here .
The superstardom enjoyed by Amitabh Bachchan in the late70s and early80s is something that todays actors cannot even dream about! He was a ONE-MAN-INDUSTRY! His injury on the sets of coolie brought the country to a standstill!! No actor before or after has seen such stardom and never will!
It makes me laugh when people compare the khans, roshans and kumars to him.

YOU ARE FULLY RIGHT. BUT EVN TODAY THE ONLY STAR WHOSE SHOWS GETS BOOKED MONTHS TOGETHER IN ADVANCE AND FAN FOLLOWING WITH CRAZE IN RAJANIKATH IN SOUTH. PREVIOUSLY RAJKUMAR OF KANNADA INDUSTRY WAS THERE. AFTER HIM, THE ONLY GUY IN INDIA IS RAJANIKANTH. I HAVE SEEN CRAZE FOR AMITABH IN NON HINDI SPEAKING SMALL TOWNS LIKE MYSORE, KARNATAKA AND FLOP MOVIES OF HIM RAN FOR 14 WEEKS, JUST FOR AMITABH BACHAN. HE WAS TOO GOOD. INFACT, TODAY AMITABH HIMSELF DOES NOT ENJOY THAT STARDOM AND CRAZE OF FANS. I CAN GET FIRST DAY FIRST SHOW TICKETS VERY EASILY. TIMES HAVE CHANGED NA...
These actors are great. I enjoy watching Mr Bachhan in every movies. His acting is lively and lovely. Mr Rajnikanth is unique in his acting style, he is a great entertainer. Mr Amir Khan is also a well balanced actor and done some of the fantastic movies. I do not know what sort of happiness these people get when they try to think a particular actor is the only great and the others are crap. Everyone is unique on this earth and have some thing best with them...

Great man, I still remember going to a theater in Dadar to see Sholay and how fascinated I was with the moovie. Even today when i see Sholay which I often do, it is fresh as that day.
Rajni is nowhere near to Amithab, people are crazy with him just for his mannerism and now for past 10 years he tries to act as politician and giving pep talks to Cheat Tamilians to make his name and fame. AMitabh and Kamal are Universal Heroes and even Bollywood Bachas will recognise them.

This "Pradeep Nair" has some issues...I have been reading his posts and all he keeps saying is "kamal/mammootty/mohal lal won Padmashree award". Here is the fact..padmashree is the 4th biggest civilian award in India. Amitabh Bacchan has won "Padma Bhushan" Which is a higher award than padmashree. So now shut_up and go to Srilanka..you native land!!
