Amitabh is a over publicized self prominent super star of Indian Cinema who proclaims himself to be the star of the millennium. But nobody other than Indians have ever even heard of him. Contrary to Mithun, Sharukh Khan, and Aamir khan who are well known in the western hemisphere because of their artistic achievement like Mrigaya, Swades and Lagaan. But Amitabh has not made a single movie which has ever been recognised as a classic on the international stage unlike Titli, Devdas and Rang de Basanti(both are bafta nominated) and Titli was internatioanlly awarded. But the indian media insists on portraying him as the face of Bollwyood which he is not either artistically or commercially.

How old are you? At least mental age is not more than 14. If you really want to know how popular he was even out side of our country, please try to read papers/magazine of 20 to 30 yrs ago. All these starts are getting facility of electronic media in their pick time. But Mr. Bachchan in his hay time did not get it. But he was the prime ambassodor of India

AB has humbly turned down a few hollywood offers, though in his forthcoming Teenpatti, he will be seen sharing screen space with Sir Ben Kingsley. He has always maintained the stand that we should rethink this habit of measuring success on the parameters of recognition by the west. Pather Panchali was dumped by Indian critics, had the western press missed reviewing this movie, would this masterpiece ever come out of the borders of Bengal ? The Indian masses have adored Bachchan over 30 years, what you are saying is actually insulting we, the people.

Have u ever been out of India? Go to any African country they dont know ur SRK mithun etc but they know Big B & above that when they imagine something about INdia Taj Mahal dosent comes in their mind its Mr B who comes in their Mind. I know many africans who have watched like very few HIndi movies but they are so fond of Mr B that when i say i am from Mumbai they ask me do u know where mr Bachan stays.

Hello, Have u watched Black? If only Cong Govt did not involve its dirty politics that year, Black should have been nominated to Oscars and easily AB would have won Oscars for his tremendous performance in that movie. Name an actor who can portray AB's roles in Deewar, Zanjeer, Don or for that matter recent movie like Baghban. AB is the only real super star or mega star India has even seen and who can carry the entire film on his shoulders. You should have some basic standards to spell his name also , leave alone comment on his works.

Absolutely true.These people are simply jealous of his success.Moreover a person has to have a minimum standard to understand what Amit Ji has done.

yes right, amitabh just an overrated actor. if amitab is an actor , kamal and mammootty are acting universitys. amitab is popular mainly bcz of the hindi language popularity and other bollywood actors who not even know how to act. kamal and mammootty have done 100s of films , each one diffent from other film .

Hit n Flops are all together different things from a gr8 personality like ab. He is so far away from this hit-flop game... this is for newly rising actors only.. and above all he is the most dedicated actor and gr8 human being.
