Poor people voted congress for power at center but they have betrayed them. They should be given 1 month notice prior to demolition to enable them to move to a safe place.
I was an eye witness to the demolition today afternoon. The slums are visible from central railway harbour line platforms and are clearly health risks and hazards. They are perched near the railway tracks and in fact recently new such hutments have joined the old ones knowing fully well that if anybody touches them, they will get lots of publicity and I saw for myself today how the media were covering the demolition which was perfectly legal exercise. All hi-fi ladies from media were present and trying to cook up stories which can fill media space and thus create hype for their channels and unnecessary publicity for these over rated slum kids and their parents. It is time to stop such lowly media exercise which brings forth the fact that the media does not have anything better to cover.

I agree Farroukh. This is done to just keep Slum Dog Millionaire in news, wtf! India ko ar kitna bechoge .
The child artise of Slumdog millionaires have been offered rental home at Jogeshwari by the Trust which they have refused to take up. They want to continue to live in the slum for such cheap publicity and huge donations which pour in with every such razing of their illegal dwelling. Also there are millions of slum children around Mumbai who do not have even 1/10th of what these Rubina and Azher have got and the media is quiet about them. Why show undue favour and give publicity to these kids as if there are not other poor children who and million times worse off than these two who have made lakhs and want to make millions.
