nice movie ! i would say 3.5 out of 5 :)
by prasanna bg on May 25, 2009 07:51 PM

had been (very)long, had seen a bollywood movie but wasnt disspointed with it, well the movie surely brings in some freshness (ditto like what "beja fry" brought us).

well dont expect OR try to see this movie in a judgemental way ! go in , grab a ticket and relax out with friends ! :)

Intelligent Comedy
by Neeharika on May 20, 2009 02:46 AM

All of our friends were in splits laughing so hard, especially in the scenes where Mahesh Manjrekar and Amit Mistry are present. Wow, the movie comes together in the second half like a mystery novel. Loved it!

Finally! A smart comedy that doesn't insult viewer's intelligen
by Guest on May 20, 2009 02:42 AM

Wow! We were pleasantly surprised to see such a smart comedy thriller made in our own Bollywood! Some of the scenes were very well done and the comedy also is genuinely funny. Not like the usual slapstick bollywood crap. I wish they made more movies like this! 5g

Wrong Review !!!!
by Gaurav Arora on May 20, 2009 01:06 AM  | Hide replies

it appears that "Mr Aseem Chhabra" has a different sense of humor, I went to see the movie and it was really pathetic, the direction is crap, as you have to struggle to understand what is going on in the first half and then in the second half it becomes bit ok, but for sure it is NOT a COMEDY movie

Good rediff took a second look - 99 rocks!
by sameer jain on May 19, 2009 08:32 AM  | Hide replies

Boss this is a different film. But different films usually suck very bad. But surprisingly and fortunately this 99 rocks. Hats off for that. And well done rediff by putting up another opinion. More than silly srk films getting 2 or 3 reviews, i think smaller and smarter films like these deserve them more.

Actually please make it a policy for these new breed of films to get at least 2 opinions. I did not like Dev D did not get a second opinion either. As a hardcore avid fan of the site, I request you to start this practice of having multiple or at least 2 reviews for those films that deserve multiple opinions. Thanks

Excellent point. For movies that break the old rules, another point of view is very welcome. There are many of us that clamor for movies like this. I don't care for another movie with 9 words or three R's in its title.

We were laughing so hard, especially in the scenes where Mahesh Manjrekar and Amit Mistry are there. Very clever movie making! Kudos to the directors!
