It looks very good to hear that it hits other countries but let me tell you that only indians will be learning it the media makes ho halla without giving any statics of how many foreigners are learning bollywood dance . Even in pictures you will see that the girls who are learning bollywood dance are indians, the same way by now i have always seen that NO FOREIGNER watches indian movies only indians in abroad watch indian movies and since they are in large number the media presents it as if it is really taking over hollywood But in reality it has no truth

You had hit the nail on the head. That is very true. These media have no business other than either boasting or cursing India.
atleast they are much better than racists in UK and Australia.. if they dont like u .. they may not interact.. unlike oz where if they dont like u.. they will surely let u know.. In US they just live n let live..

Part of the reason why this is so can be attributed to really stringent laws that protect civilian rights and liberty. Human beings in general come under the kingdom "Animal".

See the number of students killed in the US last year, See the number of hate crimes against motel and gas station employees of Indian origin and you will know whether the US is Racist or not. Problem here is India can shout against Australia and the aussies will listen - try it against the US and the US will kick our a$$. thats the only reason why the Indian govt is not saying anything against the hate crimes against desi;s in the US.
And in case you need more proof, in 2008 alone, 9 students from Andhra were shot dead in the US. Include the crimes against gas station attendants and motel owners and you have a problem at hand.
Not that we should care what anyone else thinks- but Americans are amused by bollywood, if not entertained. There are certainly more Non-Indian Americans learning classical dancing or singing than bollywood gyrations. It is only the NRIs who are promoting bollywood just for community programs- nothing more!

No news here, American's could care less about bollywood, its only certain segments of the NRI community that are interested in bollywood dancing, they send their kids to these bollywood dance classes "to teach them Indian culture" LMAO

A little bit of hype and exaggeration is what makes Rediff thrive. But I have met people from PERU, whites in Birmingham Alabama, Israelis in America, Russians in America, who are fans of Bollywood. Peru, for heaven's sake.
