This movie should be banned for the picture it painted of India and Indians and most importantly for the way Anil Kapoor calls the hero Chaiwala all the time during the show.
This movie is hyped.... I would say..and AR Rahman definitely does not deserve an Oscar for this kind of movie at least.. for heavens sake..

DO YOU UNDERSTAND QUALITY FILMS? AR Rahman deserves to win oscar. go and listen to music first........ and whatever shown in the film is reality in slums. may be u r born and brought up in rich locality.... i m also an INDIAN and i m proud to be an INDIAN. but this film is masterpiece.

Why A film can not be made on Indian Slums, poverity, corruption?
Poverity is there is America also, but we should not forget India ranks ahead then Ethopia in poverity.
What is Am ithab? did he help any slum dog in Mumbai, tht's why Raj Takray is right. when we can make films like "Care of footpath", "Traffic Signal", etc. why does't SLM ?
Let the movie atleast touch the hearts of the people to make birth control, out di rty politicians, Sangh a pari war who sho ut on Hin dusim, and people like Amit hab to join hand in had to avoid SLUM DOGS in the future.
Movie is about destiny. Movie is about those beautiful children in spite of growing in slums they know how to survive. Movie is about children relying on each other because they can not rely on society or parents. It is a beautiful movie so go watch it.

Totally accurate, Miss Ann. But Ku Klux Klan skin-head types never seem to get the big picture.
thease people are idiots, give them some money they will call the ban off, that is y i hate this side of india , people r ready to eat eachother, rather than doin something better, our film directers should learn from this how to make a excellent subject oriented film rather than just singing and dancing , some comedy , bollywood movie is ready, last year movies were good, i hope there is no ban on slumdog mill....., this is an awwwoooossssuuumm movie
The movie itself is a pakka masala flick.The only saving grace is the music and the real locations.Manmohan desai'st story and climax.Like Ghajini,slum-Dog also got better headlines & coverage because of the hype.This movie has an offending Name,apart from that we can see this flick as a timepass backwas movie,nothing more.But it too immature to call for a ban on this movie.its childish and silly.

you say slums dont suit cinematic beauty, does suicide bombers suit cinematic beauty as in dil se. Does terrorism suite cinematic beauty as in many bollywood movies. The beauty in this movie about slums lies in hope. Westerners make movies about their bad things all the time, movies on drugs, movies on holocaust, movies on racism. Only you dont want such a movie about india.

I am waiting to see one western movie that shows India in a good way ? even if its Indiana Jones, they show our kings eating eyes of animals, or show street magicians or have seen 100 times the show on rats temple in Rajasthan. Have anybody seen Ajanta/Ellora, or Lotus temple or other good monuments on Discovery ? I dont remember...

have u not seen any war movies!!! where they are more than generous in criticizing the policies/ways of their govt/agencies..... but yes, the film is below avg.
Movie should have been released worldwide simultaneously, or atleast it should have opened in India along with other movie... I cannot believe that after doing so much effort in making a movie, how can they err in a simple thing of releasing movie worldwide, thereby reducing effects of piracy and increasing revenue manyfold... in this movie especially it should have been released simultaneously in india as the story is based in india and would have appealed to audience...
now most of my friends have already watched the movie, had it released simultaneously they would have definately gone to hall after reading reviews
The movie hasn't released yet.Well it seems like some groups are watching pirated CDs and demanding Ban...lol.. GOD save My country.. May be you guys felt bad because its pirated version watch it from theater , you never know,your group might feel better..lol..
