nan kadavul has the same old tunes of Ilayaraja, nothing new, dilli 6 is better and more versatile. But comparing IR and ARR is like comparing sachin and ponting. sachin is evergreen and though ponting is also equally great he'll probably always be 2'nd best after sachin and ARR will always come second to IR and that is no mean achievement by ARR. ARR is a genius and he has proved it time and again.

Mr Varun, I say Ilayaraja as Don Bradman of Music.

Do you know one thing? AR Rahaman was once a keyboard player for Ilayaraja films. Then only he got chance of music direction. Both of them worked together.

Now tell who is good. I don't say AR Rahaman is not good. He is also as good as Ilayaraja. But Ilayaraja's song is Great in talent.

In BBC world top 10 songs, Ilayaraja's Thalapathi music stand 4th and Chaiyya chaiyya is in 9th place.

Chaiyya was famous, because it was in Hindi

Yo! yall who have been fighting if ARR or Ilayaraja is the finest Indian music director. Here are the words which came out of Ilayaraja during Madras Telugu Academy Silver Jubilee function "When ARR was working with me I didnt have that technolgy to mix his ideas with contemporary film music. It was so expensive to implement his ideas and needs a world class recording studio which is why I couldn't do it at that time but glad he(ARR) has the best recording studio (Panchatan) at Madras and he is way above any indian music director" :) hope it helps and retains peace among music lovers of India :)

When IR could go to London & Budapest for recording & if AR's only best is in recording what stopped Illayaraja from achieving the best recording? AR has never denied and wouldnt deny if IR would still like to use AR's recording studio.
AR doesn't just excel in recording, his superiority is also in music and he knows technology so well that he bridges both.

Excellent album
by Ajay Satpute on Jan 25, 2009 02:13 PM  | Hide replies

ARRahman has done it again. Delhi 6 album is a complete album. There's classical song, there's a rock style song, there's a hiphop kind, there is a soft gentle Masakkali,...

My fav of the album:
1) Masakkali
2) Gendaa Phool
3) Dilli 6
4) Kaala Bandar
5) Bhor Bhayi...

Overall, a must have album.

God bless AR RAHMAN with all the success and happiness.
