Moral of this story
by samba on Feb 26, 2009 09:01 PM  | Hide replies

This is not about Anil kapoor. We need to base our lives and the story (movie) based on a srtrong writen script. Then we are considered as realistic people. Our bollywood does not get any recognition because it just simply copying movies from others and basically there is no writers(making another entertainment movie is what the award selectors think). What they do is just play the cassette of the movie and do some sterotypes. Stop adding masala and forget about appealing to the masses. Don't worry about box -office and flops. Think about a good and strong story line.We don't encourage people to be creative. Our creativity is lost the moment we tried to adopt to the western way of thinking.
Anil kapoor of course he will jump to sky because he has accepted a role which others had rejected. He was not worried about his image. He took it as a challenge. Whereas shah rukh khan was always worried about him being portrayed as a villain(image problem). He always wants to be a good guy.
Now that the path is set we can always make movies with strong storylines without adding unnecessary masala. But we should please the hollywood too much and give up our identity.
Wish all the actors (child and adults) all the best for their future.
Hope children get good education more than the flat which the government is giving them. It is just an instant fame. The fame needs to come in stepds. Have good education otherwise you will fall down easily.

Anil Kapoor I have always loved you, your looks and your acting in Indian movies.
You did a wonderful job in SM, it is nice to see you happy and representing Indian film industry.

But, enough of this, you are a star in your own right, be happy but a little more dignified in the presence of hollywood stars, they are not super duper, they are stars just like you. You need to learn a thing or two from Dev and Freida.

Idiotic Anil Kapoor!
by Cedric Vaz on Feb 26, 2009 07:38 PM  | Hide replies

Anil Kapoor who is a famous and successful Indian actor did the most idiotic thing by touching the feet of British actor Sir Anthony Hopkins at an awards function just before the Oscars. When will we Indians learn to hold our head up high in front of foreigners. There was no need for AK to do this stupid act. Can one ever imagine even a white spot boy to touch the feet of our own great Amitabh Bachhan?
Anil made us Indians feel inferior when we can truly say that Indians are no less than their Western counterparts, maybe even better!

While watching the Oscar, I did feel that AK is acting a bit too cheap to get the publicity. However, if I look at it from another angle, he was being humble and down to earth despite of his popularity and success in Bollywood.

As far as touching someone's feet and paying respects and gratitude shows he is true to his roots and culture. i.e. Indian. IMHO if you say that its okat to touch some Indian's feet but not some gora's, you are being racist.

Please grow up
by Navaz Hassan on Feb 26, 2009 07:37 PM

Guys, please grow up. He is happy that he was atleast a part of a member in the winning movie. That's it. He does not have to do a great acting in the character given. Let him happy atleast. Why to spoil it.

Lakhan ban ne gaya Gentleman

I pity this guy, seems like he is the one that needs to be subjected to electric shock like in the opening scene of the movie. He seems to have gone crazy after the movie got such critical acclaim. He has of late often appeared on Indian television blabbering non-chalantly as though he directed/produced the movie himself. No one is even endorsing him or his claims...Does he need such cheap publicity? If he thinks that some Hollywood biggie will cast him in one of his movies, he needs another electric shock to wake him up from his day-dreaming...Thanks to his antics, he probably will be remembered for seeking cheap publicity than for his memorable performances in Ram Lakhan or Sahib...

During 1983 after winning the world cup we had sunil valson everywhere eventhough he had not made any contribution.Similarly we now have Anil Kapoor enjoying success without actually doing anything.I pity him.

Nowadays even feeling proud of a film u r a part of is a crime. The guy is happy about being invited to Oscars for a movie that eventually won it, but people seem to have a problem with him being happy.
Anil Kapoor is not like other "feel rich" actors who would have said- "Yes, it was a nice experience." He is a genuine guy, and is genuinely happy about it, and rightly so.
