Re: Boost to Indian Slumdogs

Indian have to always stoop before they can conquer.......! First they (the Yanks) called us slummies, then dogs and then finally gave us the Oscars! It's a shame that a famous & successful Indian actor like Anil Kapoor touched the feet of British actor Sir Anthony Hopkins! I don't think even a white spot boy would ever touch the feet of our great actor Amitabh Bachhan. When will our Indians learn to hold their heads up high? And not be in awe of their western counterparts, as we are as good as them, may be even better!
ARE the people criticizing SM , NUTS or kids from standard 1st .... All you can see is that they have shown the poverty the kids of mumbai live in, etc... but dont you guys get the message.... It says loud and clear "People in India live in extreme circumstances and yet do not give up on their dreams and Love".... This is definetly something what and indian can do and we need to be proud of it...... Did u guys forget Our father of nation - Gandhiji also is not famous & respected for living a glamours life .. but was famous for his teachings he gave us, by living a simple yet meaningful life....
Those who are shouting about SM as wrongly portraying Indian image needs to rethink please. Are you always traveling by plane or do you never walk past a slum in your city? Have you never seen the way some people have to fight with dogs in a garbage can to find some rotten food on which he can survive. Once while traveling by train near a station I saw a beggar picking up aluminium containers from the sewage, thrown from the train to find if he can have some leftovers. I know what it is all about. People are feeling sorry that the whole world would learn how majority of people live in this country. They just want to close eyes and want to live happily in their own fool's paradise. Remember the film might be directed by a British but the original story is written by an Indian. The irony of the matter is that people are not thinking about their fellow countryman. At least this film has projected Indian artist to a global platform where no one could stand ever before. This film got the Oscars because it deserved it, superb camera work, brilliant cinematography and tremendous editing. One mistake and the film would have been a disaster. Agreed we make films better than this but from now on there will be better chance for these Indian films to do better globally for the west would now get up and start to take notice which they previously didn’t.

That means next time they show a robbery it would try and depict robbers in the wrong light? What are you trying to say. Films are inspired from reality. If it is there you dont have a problem but if it is shown on movie you start reacting? Is that a right attitude?
