Very good SRK and Priyan together in Billu.. As i watched in other 2 languages, I like this Hindi version of the film. It gives real life to the story. i think all should watch it once. It’s a good movie..
This is my first message in rediff. I used to read a lot but doesnot post.
However Last night watched the movie and find it amazingly beautiful and clean. Ofcourse SRK is there but even after that it fall under the category where the film moves without any effort. The simple approach of Irfan and the way his charater has been built can be idol to each human being.
Though he was poor but he has self respect. Though he was financially week he doesnot ask for the help, not even to his best friend. His character is the idol charactor to make it understand to todays people that when u do some good work, dont hope for anything in return.
SRK charactor shows the generousness andfriendship.
The reviewer is apologetic for not liking the movie! The disturbing bit is he is so scared of doing his job, he need not bother doing it. He resorts to sucking up to and dissing simultaneously. Of late SRK movies are preachy and geared towards children and families. One does not expect a brutal action film from him anymore. A Darr and a Baazigar are history. Perhaps Billu barber is intended for kids. If so, then item numbers were not needed in a children's movie. Even OSO was catered to children. So will forthcoming RA and another superhero movie be. So what!

A good review from U. It is better than the confused expert Sen's pathetic review. Billu Barber is Srk's take on the Krishna tale. A remake can have its own version. There was no need to ridicule his star status over a character portrayal onscreen or talk about his minor children in a professional public review. Respect their privacy.
Shah Rukh's Billu, despite a good pickup on the weekend, is proving to be a loss making proposition. The other two releases of the week - The Stoneman Murders and Jugaad both have failed to make a mark at the ticket window.
Box Office Collections
SRK's home production Billu had got a poor opening on Friday in the range of 35-40 per cent. A better response was seen at smaller centres and single screens than the multiplexes on the opening day. Billu's total net collections for day ended up being around Rs 3.50 crore.
On the weekend however, there was good rise in its collections everywhere which saved the film from being a disaster.
The opening weekend occupancy rose to around 70-80 per cent and the film succeeded in grossing around Rs 13 crore net from the opening weekend. The opening weekend collections from major multiplex players for Billu were - PVR - 75 per cent, Fun Cinemas 70 per cent, BIG 70-80 per cent, Cinemax 75-80 per cent, Spice – 70-75 per cent and G-7 80per cent.
But then again there has been a heavy drop in today i.e. Monday's collections all over which spells problem for the film.

Poor Box office opening of almost all the movies in this weekend is the result of the Examination. Which is starting from 2nd of march.
The film should have been released after this season. It is a family film but most of the family wil lnot be able to enjoyed it because of the exams.

Movie is ok.. simple movie with good messsage..however the original malayalam and the next tamil/telugu versions of the movie were much better..more gripping and more heartnudging. Yet for its good message, I wish the movie does well ..
