ARR has been giving us the best music, let hope he get the Oscar award this time. I think he deserve the Oscar award coz he has been giving the Indian movies the best music for long time.
slumdogs score must be compared to other nominees in that category instead with arr previous works like dil se roja etc etc. his music fits perfectly to slumdog just look at the movie it demanded that kind of music . say if james cameroon gets oscar in near future it need not be as great as titanic .the jury is not going to compare it with titanic but other presently nominated films in that category.
DOES A.R.RAHMAN PAY ALL THESE PEOPLE TO WRITE SUCH STUFF, BECOS IT IS FAR INTERESTING ABD BETTER THAN HIS MUSIC , ANYWAY THIS IS ONLY COLUMN THAT KEEPS ME AND MY FAMILY LAUGHING EVERYDAY AFTER A HARD DAY'S WORK

people like you are kachra you think you are inferior to westerners when a person like arr is making our country proud we should not be commenting on that. oscar is just another international award winning this will not make him more great we all know how truly great he is. he does nt need it to prove it he has already proved time and time now that he is larger than life personality we dont know how to judge his music

Shaikh Ji, forget and forgive Sathyan for his unwarranted comments...he is a non entity and his comments are like fart in the air. Probably he could not digest ARR's success or wondering why his favourite music director cudnt make the cut...
With all due respect to the people who are investing their time in writing blogs here...Look Some are saying that SDM is not Rahman's best work and he must be laughing inhis heart... We should think from creaotrs point of view.. he has created the music for SDM and some of memories must be attached to it-- It maybe nearer to Rahman - we cant coment on that. Abhniav Bindra won Gold Medal for India.Everyone is cheering for that. but very few people knows that he stood 5th in last Olympic and his score was more than the gold he won at beijing- but that doesnot lessen his Achivement. he will still be called as Gold Medalist. Becaus ewhat matters is that he has won Gold medal.Rahman is giving music since more than 15 years now.we cant expect him to give same quality music again and again.If he won Oscar for SDM then its fine.We should think that he has become part o this project only because of his earlier achievements and the music we are talking of(like DIl Se, Roja, Gntleman etc).Its no easier to become lead composer of International Project, that director could have bring some international composer also, or he may have taken Anu malik also - who knows- so instead of cribbing about his present performance and comparing him with his last achivements we shold full heartedly accept that Rahman has been nominated for Oscars and he should in that...I hope every one will agree with me..
Such tags like Slumdog satisfies the ego of western media. They forget that movies are not the only source to prove a country prowess.
Do they forget that Indian children top in UK, USA, Canada, Australian universities. India is a soft state so poor here instead of minimising population produced children as a mean to earn and look after themselves in old age. Our poor and unemployed are not looters, vagabonds, killers, rapists as are in western society. the crime we see in India is done by criminals and not by somebody short of money.
