Why couldn't the President come herself? She has anyway no work other than her daily chores. Sending the Additional Secretary of Home Ministry for a Bharat Ratna is shameful.
At last Thank God he got Bharat Ratna. He should have been considered long back. I hope Aishwarya Rai is also not nominated as Bharat Ratna courtesy...Amar Singh
At last Bharath Ratna having some weight it seems... see still there is some awards going for real talent and not influenced... so the conclusion is 1% awards will be given to real talents...

Don't try and malign his award by your stupid regional rhetoric. A Bharat Ratna is given as he is the Jewel of India, and not Karnataka or Maharashtra or TN alone.
The most deserving award this year with the Padma awards fiasco.

At least refrain from making it regional. Its Bharat ratna and we all are proud, it doesn't matter whether he is from Karnataka or AP, he deserve it thats why he get it.
From reading these messages it seems that most people have heard him only in "mile sur mera tumara". Only a few people in our country are capable of appreciating classical music. Only in India there is a big gap between "good" music and popular music.
I wish musicians who truly entertain common people get more recognition in terms of awards. There is nothing wrong in appreciating popular music.
Having said that I have exactly one song sung by Pt Joshi in my collection and I really enjoy it.

I would suggest to give it to Pratibha Patil's husband (even I dont rememebr his name)...and another candidate is Shivraj Patil....
