Did anybody notice that this article has been placed by rediff under the segment of THE WORST FILMS OF 2009? Funny!!! Isn't it? A dog's tail never straightens. Poor rediff has not learnt its lessons. It still cannot digest the fact that 3 idiots is not only one of the best of 2009, but also of this decade.

I think you are the fourth idiot. (just j/k dude no insult). It is not under that section as u imagined it is under the section of most commented. It just happens to be the the worst movies of 2009 tops the listabout most ommented and so has a higher font in heading that made you feel so.

Oh no, I did not feel insulted at all. Infact, after watching 3 idiots, I would love to be called an idiot. Aamir & Co. have completely changed the meaning of this word. Anyway, thanks for calling me an idiot:)
I need to discover a new term for the stupendous business of 3 IDIOTS. Historic, earth-shattering, smashing, rocking, astounding, record-shattering, fantabulous... 3 IDIOTS has gone beyond these terms. Its business has surpassed not just GHAJINI, but also the expectations of the industry. All calculations and predictions have gone for a toss, with 3 IDIOTS setting new records at practically every centre of India.
Everyone keeps asking me, kitna business karegi? Sorry, I don't have an answer for it. It's akin to a hurricane right now and frankly, no one would be able to guess the numbers at this juncture.
The opening weekend was superb Monday was bigger than Saturday and Tuesday looks rock-solid too. The footfalls at plexes continue to swell and it only goes to prove that the aam aadmi is ready to put his hand in his pocket, shell out Rs. 200 to Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 for a ticket, provided the film is worth it.
As I see it, 3 IDIOTS is sure to outperform GHAJINI in the domestic market. In fact, most distributors I spoke to [some of them also associated with GHAJINI] feel that 3 IDIOTS is going to overtake GHAJINI by leaps and bounds. That's great, isn't it?

A highly deplorable act on behalf of the producers. Imagine the kind of money which will be spent by a family of 4 to watch a movie like this. At Rs.350 per ticket, they will have to shell out a whopping Rs.1,400/- for watching one movie. Add to this the cost of prohibitively expensive drinks and eats inside the theatre. So total cost around Rs.2000/-?
When the same movie is available in the pirated DVD version at Rs.50/-, why should one spend such obscene amount of money going to theater? And to add salt to the injury, the same movie will be shown in some channel three months down the line, making the paying public complete fools.
It is high time the producers of hindi movies wake up to this fact.
3 IDIOTS continues to surprise and shock! The Tuesday figures are in the range of Rs. 8.75 cr. to Rs. 9 cr., which is bigger than the Friday numbers of all biggies that opened this year, including LOVE AAJ KAL. The film has now crossed Rs. 60 cr. mark and is heading for a Rs. 75 cr. to Rs. 80 cr. Week 1. Unbelievable, but true!
Meanwhile, the Australia weekend numbers have also poured in. The film has collected an astonishing Aus. $ 3,98,595 [approx. Rs. 1.67 crores] on 20 screens, with the per screen average working out to Aus. $ 19,930. The numbers are bigger than the lifetime gross of most biggies.
Outstanding movie. Well done by entire team. Outstanding performances by Aamir, Boman and Omi. I am going to watch it once again. Its a laugh riot , never laughed so much before.

i liked Omi Vaidya's performance better.... The way he has delivered the speech is marvellous...
