This was crazy!We always llok up rediff reviews before we go watch a movie.We read Taran Adarsh's review on 3 Idiots and had made up our mind to catch 3 Idiots asap!Then we read this review! We were quite disheartened. But yet we saw the movie..and it was class apart! Its not that it was a mindless piece of comedy that becomes a hit just for its star value and some gags here n there..it was a brilliantly scripted,directed and acted piece of art. I am very sorry to say, but it looked as if a Shahrukh Khan had paid this critic some X thousand to write this negative review!Rediff -Please have a panel watch the movies before such kind of reviews are posted

Personally I am not happy with the REVIEW. The movie is a class and a surely worth watch and has all the ingredients required to make a successful movie and for sure it is NOT A MASALA MOVIE. It is CLASS. The review could have been better and for sure deserved more than 2 and half stars. FROM WHAT EVER ANGLE A MOVIE PUNDIT CAN THINK.

for the people who dont believe in reviewers - he quotes that too "And just like in TZP, there will be people leaving 3 Idiots thinking that the film has changed their lives. "
a critic and reviewer need not necessarily priase the movie, and he does not predict the film's commercial viability. he merely reviews it. its up to the audience to lap it up! besides, a hit movie is not necessarily a measure of its worth, its just raked in a lot of money/ or a lot of people watched it/ or a many people watched it repeatedly !

Man who ever you are....this reviewer is being damned just coz of one simple reason..he missed the audience's taste for a movie.when a movie is reviewed its reveiwed keeping mind the majority of the people for whom the movie is actually reveiwed.This man here is nt doing it fr 5% of the people,bt is actually here coz majority read it.If we all r finding it not only entertaining bt also enriching n enlightening thn may be there is somethin wrong with this critic.If still you guys have yr own opinion thn keep it to yrself n dont post thm on these public networking sites coz again 95% of people coming here will damn it....n cycle will go on n on......have a gud day
I haven't watched 3-idiots and may not watch in future too, but it seems that this movie is popular. But popular to common Indian movie goers does not necessarily means its a good-movie. Many extremely popular India movies actually sucks, and sucks big time. But we all think that what we like everybody should like it. If someone gives a different opinion, bash him/her. As we have every right to like or dislike a movie, similarly a critic has the right to write what he/she thinks about it. We may disagree, but it is better to be respectful. But who cares about it in India? Its free for all.

OSO, welcome, de dhana dhan, all the best might have done well at the box office - but most of them were almost certainly stupid and sub par. they released at what's increasingly becoming a choice time for releases - new year's eve. make a massive publicity stunt and pull off a decent recovery.
Aseem Chhabra's review Sucks. 2.5 rating to a movie of 3 idiots caliber ????. I guess he is himesh's fan. He has no idea to figure out what people like and what not. Millions of people have rushed to see this movie and are raving about it, and here sits one guy in Newyork who writes a bullshit review. Rediff is a big group, i hope they get some one more proffessional and some one who has Cinema knowledge to write a reivew.

critics are not barometer of a movie's success. that'd be utter foolishness. critics never start out to say that a movie would be a hit or a miss.
Friends, the fact that this review is nonsensical & biased is apparent from the readers' reactions here. Rediff obviously posts such crappy reviews deliberately to attract negative publicity. The movie has garnered glowing reviews from all the movie critics and bloggers. Anyways the rediff review would only better the box office prospects of the movie than to harm it... 'coz intelligent people have understood that whenever Rediff degrades any movie, its all the more better. My review: What a priceless movie to sign off the year for bollywood! "3 idiots" is a soulful, charming film with great performances by one and all.. It has all the right ingredients - emotions, story, drama, romance, rib tickling comedy and yes - a practically valid social message (without preaching), which means that the movie can cater to the classes as well as the masses (the universal critical acclaim and audience reaction validates this point). Yes a few cinematic liberties have been taken in the film but they do not hamper the impact of the film whatsoever. Rajkumar Hirani has again proved that he is the best of the new breed of bollywood directors of this decade. He has so brillianty managed to retain the soul of Chetan Bhagat's bestseller "5 point someone" and yet infused the movie with his own energy and film making style. The narration and screenplay is different from the novel and yet it works big time! A gem not to be missed - do yourself a favour & see this amazing movie. My rating: 9/10.
