It is a awesome-innocent movie.Music by iliyaraja was very soothing.amitabh has given a one of the best performance in bollywood... movie runs at a good pace, dialogues were awesome which had a slight tinch of humour.. movie wud fare well in metro cities bt might lack behind in small cities coz d taste of humour is very differnt which cud only b understood by educated class....vidya balan was very impressive, abhishek didn't have a lot to do.. overall movie is a excellent blend of humour nd emotions.

Paa

Paa is a terribly disappointing film. There was no acting talent dispalyed by Amitabh. One should feel sorry for his plight, but it is so unnatural that I didn't even feel sorry for Auro. Jaya's introduction at the beginning was ridiculous! For a minute I thought she was mocking at some mentally retarded child.
The only positive points of the film are Abhishek who is turning out to be a very good actor, much more than his dad ever was, Vidya Balan who is very natural & her mom who has done a good job.
Can't understand why people wear blinds when it comes to giving honest reviews when it concerns big DEMI GOds!

very decent and touchy movie !!
by Asmita Band on Dec 17, 2009 10:58 AM

very nicely framed movie....perfect dialogues...no unnecessary melodrama......and perfectly casted actors....overall a perfect entertaining movie.
Amitabh Bacchan was the best in his role...!!
Abhishek and vidya also acted beautifully...!
the message which Auro's classmate delivers at the end of the movie was very true...and the gift she makes for Auro is v touchy...
A pervect movie.....!! Hats off to everyone who contributed for it!

The movie was well crafted and is directed really well, but one thing why i am disappointed is the end .The end was so abrupt that we could`nt even realise it ,it would have been better if they would have showed the reunion of the parents and they remembering auro and learning from his short life the charm he gave them and the lessons he taught his elders.but anyways thats one thing secondly it could have been more colourful.
I enjoyed Mr Bacchan the most he was too good and he is and will be a source of inspiration for millions and a pride for our nation .
God Bless you Mr.Bacchan .And Abhishek has evolved so much he has a long way to go.

Too much hype for a dull ordinary movie...
by Bela Malini on Dec 11, 2009 09:49 PM  | Hide replies

There is so much unnecessary hype about this movie. What's so great about it?
Take out Amitabh's million dollar makeup and remove the 'bum and potty' jokes and there is nothing in it. Slow paced ordinary story about a child born out of wedlock and his trials and tribulations. In between there are useless sub-plots about a politician and his life where Abhishek doesn't fit very well either.
Amitabh is playing an 80 year old man who behaves like a child. HELLOOOO, stooping and walking and telling 'bum' and 'potty' jokes are not what 12 year children do and it doesn't take much of an effort to do so even under heavy prosthetic make-up.
Some are even comparing it to TZP, oh pleasee stop this nonsense.
Amitabh is an iconic talent but 'PAA' and 'BLACK' are not one of his better movies. It is better to see Amitabh in one scene roles like that of a 'Shepherd' in Paheli OR that of a almost Retired police officer dozing off in a Public meeting in 'Khakee' and then transforming into a lion in front of a corrupt police officer.
Paa is more of a gimmickry with prosthetics and 'bum' jokes.

That is the beuaty...
Nothing is great .....only simplicity.

You need to be very simple to understand this excellent movie.

Keeping things simple is a very difficult.

That is why this movie is simply GREAT.

If you take a couple of core things from every movie, you could ask this 'What-is-so-great-about?' question of most movies in history. Each movie has a theme and in this one the central premise was very well-developed and built upon, IMO. I felt the dialogues and screenplay were very well-written too. Some good people have put in a decent amount of thought / effort into this movie and should be appreciated. I for one did NOT feel cheated of my $10 after having watched this movie.

Hi Bela... But where are the directors to exploit the best out of this Big Man ? I feel for you. Seems you are a fan of the Big B like me. Even I felt but for the last moment of death of Auro and the little drag.. this movie would have been a bigger hit. Even the song picturisations were too bad / incomplete. Balki has no taste of good picturisation. It is a hit because of Bachchns acting and Auro.

Sir
I would beg to differ. TZP was a very good movie, an excellent movie, a lesson for parents of today to stop with their tendency of putting too much pressure on their kids to shine academically. The movie had a generic appeal and aura despite dealing with the subject of dyslexia. About PAA, for me, Amitabh Bachchan ranks from No.1 to 10, others come afterwards, but if i remove this bias from my judgement of the movie, i would say, PAA is a good movie, nothing less, nothing more. I won't go to extremes like Bela above, AB has portrayed the role beautifully, can't see how it could be done better, Vidya Balan has done a tremendous job too and the lady as granny of Auro. I think its a must watch movie but as Bela points out above, the hype of the movie makes us to expect much more than it actually delivers. Its a new, refreshing experience to watch Big B in this role, but on the whole its a predicable narrative.
