It was great treat to watch him on screen. He held his own and made his presence felt even in front of Superstars. Wish he was given roles in other South Indian languages.
To people who see an artist credentials in his popularity index only, maybe Murali is unknown. He may not be very known outside south film industry. But those who view acting from a different angle, Murali is much better an actor than others like Mohanlal.. Mammotty I wont say, because he was too good in Vadakkan Veeragagha, Amaram and Mathilukal!

sreenivasan is more of a complete artist than all the others combined. Sreenivasan's talent goes far beyond his acting prowess. He's an excellent writer/director as well. Most of the movies that we fondly remember in the golden age mallu movies are those written by sreenivasan. Each of these movies have a moral to tell and /or address a social issue in kerala. the movies written by reenivasan are the ones that made Mohanlal!
How can we forget your acting in films like Chamayam, Venkalam, Champakkulam thachan, Amaram, Aadharam etc. etc. You will always be remembered as a true actor with natural expressions. Big loss for South indian film industry especially for Malayalam. May his soul rest in peace.
Can anyone forget the scene where he complains to Achhu(Mammootty) for beating his son in 'Amaram'. Salute to one of the finest of Actors we ve ever seen..
Lohithadas passed away first - One among the 5 best script writers all time in mallu film industry
Then Rajan P Dev - who created his own space in south Indian film industry
And now the versatile Murali.. The poblem here is these people demise took away a set of fine people/intellectuals and that loss can never be compendsated by any of the new age actors or writers. Noone come anywhere near the class and work of these people.

Sorry Reema, may be you did not know the person... sorry for all the comments towards you...cause one belongs to me too...
Murali was one of the real actor (we dont feel he is acting) he was living in each character. he got national award and state awards for best actor and acted in many films and was popular in other languages also. It was a great loss, that too very early.

Reema,
Decency demands that you do not talk ill of a person who is no more. Indian cinema is not confined to Bollywood and Hindi cinema only. I am not a follower of movies. I watch movies once in a while only. But to become a matured person, you first need to appreciate the talents of persons, irrespective of his language, colour and creed. There are extra-ordinary talents, but not over-hyped, in most of the regional languages. Since you know only Amirkhans and some other khans, it does not mean that there is no world outside these khans.

How do you say that Murali was unknown ? Any one who knows cinema in India knows the contribution of Murali. Please don't show your stupidity .
He was such a natural actor and essayed many a wonderful character roles. His role in DumDumDum where he player Jyotika's Dad was one of his momrable performances. His dialogue of "En ponnaiyae tharaen vera ennatha thara?" still resonates in my ears. Its indeed a very sad day for south Indian cinema.
it is a great loss to malayalam cinema, now only nedumudi venu is there. oduvill unnikrishnan, Nf. Varghese, Lohi, Rajn p dev and now murali. how can we forget his acting in Amaram , aadaram last but not least neythukaran.

Reema! If you don't know him or how good an actor he is, how can you say there are better actors than him. Have some sense. You're commenting on somebody who's dead. famous or non-famous. show some respect.
