Chandigarh: Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, senior Congress leaders and police officials figure in a list of 200 persons against whom Sikh organizations will file a fresh petition in the Supreme Court, seeking action against them for their role in anti-Sikh riots in Delhi in 1984.
The All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) and New York-based 'Sikhs for Justice' Friday announced that fresh individual petitions would be filed against each of these 200 persons in the apex court to bring them to justice.
The list includes names of Bachchan, Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, Bhajan Lal, Sajjan Kumar and several others, including police officers, for being directly and indirectly involved in rioting against Sikhs in Delhi and elsewhere in the aftermath of the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi by her two Sikh bodyguards.
"We want all these persons to be brought before law and be punished for what they did to innocent Sikhs," AISSF president Karnail Singh told reporters here.
"The petition against Bachchan will be based on testimonies of riot victims and the actor's highly provocative statements following Indira Gandhi's assassination in 1984," Karnail Singh said.
AISSF and the US-based organization will bring witnesses, including one Jasbir Singh, from other countries to testify before the Supreme Court against the people behind the riots.

Abhijit nobody in the film industry has reached such a stature. He is a born actor and this cannot be disputed. Even at this age he has charisma. He has reached the top and remained there for a long period which is commendable. So lets at least respect him for that if not for churning successive super hits.

Amitabh is the only actor whose movies released on five consecutive weeks and ran for 75 weeks. No actor in the world can achieve that kind of success. You are fool my dear and all the actors like Shahrukh, Hritik are child in front of him. bacha hai sab.
Mr.Bachchan is an artist - and most of his work comes from the intellectually impoverished Mumbai film industry. He comes from a strong classical background -acting in Shakespearen plays in Calcutta in Victor Bannerji's group and ofcourse son of Harivanshrai Bachchan - who had done his doctorate on W.B.Yeats. The Mumbai film industry on the other hand has a very strong pedestrian background. Most of them know nothing about India's literary heritage - in fact I seriously doubt if 90% of the award winning actors, writers or directors have even read a single story by Tagore.
In a scenario such as this it is pretty evident that Mr.Bachchan will soar high.It is like putting a post graduate in a primary school. He is bound to excel.
