sachein and thirupachi were a flop though, if you say "hit movies with good music" then Jillunu oru kadhal would have been a hit - because of the song Munbe Vaa
Vaaranam Aayiram was a massiva hit, where didyou get that it was flop?

Which idiot created this list? dasavatharam-block buster vettaiyadu villayadu-hit mumbai express-flop vasoolraja-hit virumandi- super hit it created record collection during that time anbe sivam-hit panchathantiram - hit PKS-block buster
I watched the movie today. Ayan was good in the first part but the second part really spoils the beautiful first part. The second part is enough to make this movie go to ditches...After seeing the climax, it reminded me of Catch me if you can... I couldnt hold on to my seat as the song sequences came in wrong place ( What is the need of Honey Honey?) So people its really a average film but better when compared to Vijay, and Ajith flops... I would give 2/5....
P.S: If you are Suriya fan watch it for surya who is brilliant in first half and in fight sequences with his well toned body...Otherwise i would say better save your money...

Completely agree. The first chase scene in Ethiopia is taken from D-16, the window crash scene from Bourne, the drug trafficking scene from Gracias Maria (world movie) and so on..... overall timepass movie, nothing special abt this movie !!
I agree with you Shiv Kumar that Ayan is a well made masala movie that does not totally suspends belief unlike most masala movies. It works very well as an action movie with some of the best and believable action sequences in a Tamil movie. It fails miserably as a romance movie because of the lack of chemistry between Tamana and Surya. Tamana is wooden and all she has going for her is her milky white skin so beloved of Tamil men. What a tragedy for Tamil films when Tamana is being labelled as the next best thing. You never realise what a loss Tamil film industry has suffered with the retirement of Jyothika; with Simran relegated to secondary role and with Asin migrating to Hindi films. Ayan is a much, much better movie that Kuruvi, Aegan,Thanavettu, Thee etc. And Surya once again proves why he can proudly take his place beside Vijay and Ajith as the new triumvirate of Tamil movies. He is one Super waste, Dishes out bad movie after Bad movie. He thinks that he is next to Rajini but his movies are low grade, poor production values and completely 3rd Grade.
