SRK nowhere in comparision
by True Blue on Sep 29, 2008 10:47 PM  | Hide replies

SRK is nowhere in comparision to Amol Palekar. Amol Palekar has acted in so many great comedies such as Golmaal, Rangibirangi, Choti si Baat, Naram Garam etc. SRK in comparision has nothing similar to offer. Additionally, the movies mentioned above were really entertaining, unlike the silly fashion show movies of today. Only about exotic locations, scantily dressed women/models and stupid dances.

Amol Palekar does not need to act in such superficial NRI movies. DDLJ was a candy floss lover story, Veer Zaara was some guy's fantasy about Pakistan and Chak De mostly inspired by the multiple sports related movies from Hollywood. Amol Palekar didn't need to act in that genre of movies. So it's not me, but you who's being a stupid fool here. And there's no mention if Amitabh here, why do you see the need to bring him in here. Or is that what you do when you have no convincing argument ? Try to change the topic ? Nice try, I didn't fall for that though

The one positive thing about SRK is in his personal life. He has always remained committed to his wife Gauri. Contrast this with other Khans like Aamir,Salman, Saif who've always been moving from one woman to another. On that front, SRK is clearly ahead of the Khans. Coming to movies, there's not much to separate SRK from Salman or Saif. Aamir on the other hand is a thinking actor, doesn't like to confine himself to masala movies. But he can be arrogant and egoistic at times. That is Aamir's drawback.

Aamir a thinking actor? Yeah yeah to fool the audiences with pesudo nationalistic rubbish like Rang De...as if people are going to change in India...without some issue in his movie which he pretends to project as a holier-thou-image, he can't act in good entertaining movies for nuts.

What national issues did you have in Dil Chahta Hai ? Or Taare Zameen Par for that matter? Don't just invent some ridiculous pretext for arguing. If you don't have stuff to talk about, don't just fake it. People changing in India is hardly relevent to the discussion here. If you have no real argument, the best thing would be to maintain your dignity and silence.

He's copied DilipKumar(Devdas),Amitabh (Don,KBC),Rajesh Khanna(Kal Ho na Ho).Now it's great Amol Palekar's Turn.
When will SRK act like himself? try to get original.

Without SRK doing Devdas or Don, people would not even know abt these originals. He has done what no one else ahs done..to bring these forgotten movies to today's generation. He acted like himself in Chak De and Swades..did u miss that? And we all know how many copies of DDLJ has been made and are still being made!!!

FYI, Swades was a big flop. Btw, Devdas and Golmaal are timeless classics. Don't really see how people would talk about DDLJ some 30 years from now. It's just a candyfloss love story, boy gets girl and alls well in the end. Designed to make money by catering to NRIs using foreign locales etc.

Shivaji Ghosh
no way

This seems a bit far fetched. Khan in no way resembles Palekar in terms of look or body language.
