I think U should post it here for the benefit of the readers. Are you sure it was not published by the same author - Raja Sen - there as well? Man Rediff could be in trouble if your claims are true! Cheers,
I've been reading Raja Sen on Rediff for last 6 years, And inspite of loathing him many times for many reasons, I guess we gotta give it to him - He's an absolute maverick!
This is as good an article as it can get, the analogies, the emotions, the expressions, So poetically and aptly placed - You deserve a standing ovation for this one Mr Sen!....I'm not exactly a Raja Sen fan - And I wont be unless he explains how cud OSO get one star more than TZP - But then if we keep floating impression perspectives and critical opinions aside, This guy is quite easily the finest entertainment writer around....And yes, I do read NYT's Scott, Chicago Times's Roger Ebert, CBS's David Edelstein, New Yorker's Anthony Lane, SFC's Mick Lasalle and our own Rajeev Masand....But still he stands out for his Knowledge, Language and Courage (I still remember how 4 years back he gave a less-than-flattering review of SLB's Black when whole world, including myself, was going ga-ga abt that over-rated movie)
On the flip side, His obsession with Renaissance literature and Unjustified digressions really get on my nerves at times - But then I also feel extremely proud when I share some of his better reviews with friends in US and it stuns them how an Indian is analyzing an American movie better than the Americans.
Finally, I do have some bitter words too for that other article he's posted today - On Best Movies of 80's - But after reading this one I guess I'd rather forgive him for the day...!!
