Rama Rama Kya hai drama
by jignesh bond on Dec 16, 2008 03:26 AM  | Hide replies

No wonder Mukta Arts stock trades 52 week low.
This also proves that if the story is mundane even numerologically spelled name YUVVARAAJ(instead of YuvRaj) can not be a winner.

I likes the movie
by Amit Bhutani on Dec 08, 2008 07:47 PM

There are certain flaws in this review. This film is a pefect example of a good story being told with a great screenplay and ofcourse Subhash Ghai is good at that.

It looks like the reviewer wants a sharaukh khan movie where he is a super hearo and does everything "right".

This movie has amazing and realistic characters. I just love the mature way this movie has been made and still making the movie intersting to watch.

Really really really but REALLY bad movie
by Guest on Dec 06, 2008 10:00 PM

I knew in the first 10 mins that this movie was going to be utter crap - I went there expecting a Ghai "chef-d'oeuvre" n I was extremely disappointed. there is no flow between the scenes - the locations are irrelevant-zayed was awful-who in their right mind can call any bit of acting that he did in that movie good? salman disappointed me too-im a fan n i thought i was going to get better-hes capable of so much more.katrina is climbing that ladder leading to stardom well-all the best.anil kapoor did really well tho i cannot believe he read the script AND signed fr the movie.maybe it looked awesome on paper.dialogues were pretty bad too-cmon compare that with a pardes or taal n then tell me if you think the dialogues were good. if they were good then their delivery stank.there were so many unnecessary scenes-the violin breaking in the cafe, the flying in tu meri dost hain, the phone falling from salman's pocket n him getting it back-what was the point then?-n the bit where salman talks about his family history-OMG NO!The story itself was bad so the delivery was crap.the end was crap-they could have done a better job of handling the arrest of the uncle etc-seemed to be done in a hurry.People who think this movie is good are just extremely loyal fans of ghai n the actors.or they can only see the good in the movie(there were a FEW bits) or they can only see the message that this movie tries to give.the message can be given on paper-i went there to watch a movie n i left UNSATISFIED.

Yuvvraaj, film with a message
by rajesh kumar on Dec 04, 2008 09:30 AM  | Hide replies

I have been an ardent fan of Subhash Ghai since he made Karz in 1980 and have seen practically all his films like Vidhaata, Hero, Meri Jung, Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes, Taal, Kisna and Black And White.

Before I ventured into seeing Yuvvraaj, I heard people reviewing the film and passing comments about it, made me a little skeptical whether to see the film or not. I couldn’t believe my ears and knew that Ghai could not make a bad film.

When I ventured to see the film, to my disbelief, I found the film thoroughly enjoyable. In fact when the end-credits stopped rolling, I unknowingly started clapping. I was startled to find thereafter that three more gentlemen also started clapping. I clapped because of the message “United we stand, divided we fall” Ghai has sent across through the film. I also liked the way the story had been woven.

Anil Kapoor steals the show with a restrained performance. His performance, sometimes, reminds one of Raj Kapoor. According to me, it is for the first time in his career that Salman Khan has played a matured character of a person who plays by the heart whereas his younger brother Zayed Khan plays a role who goes by his mind. It felt good to see Salman doing the role with ease. In fact all the artistes have enacted their roles well.

The songs are also nice; special mention goes to Tu meri dost hai, Shanno shanno, Tu muskoora, Dil ka rishta and Manmohini more. I must say that the Rahman-Gulzar combination has borne fruit. The former’s background

Raj Kapoor restrained performance? That gave it away man. You are an employee of Mr. Subhash Ghai. Or Subhash ghai himself.

Good movie
by rupa on Nov 30, 2008 03:34 AM

This movie is better than all the other recent movies of the year. It starts slow in the beginning but picks up speed later. Good acting by Anil, Mithun, Zayed & KK. Salman could have done better. Over all a decent movie watchable with family. Lot better than Dostana.

Complete Crap!!
by Guest on Nov 29, 2008 08:49 AM  | Hide replies

I cant believe the morons here who can call this movie good?? this is one of the worst movies to come out this year. Good actors like anil kappor have been wasted in a story which the reviewer incorrectly calls 20 years too late, it is actually half a century too late!!! maybe it shouldt have come out at all.

Subash Ghai, this is a sign first Kisna now Yuvraaj. Dude your directing days are over, Put all the money you made courtsey the good ones like karz, ram lakhan et all n retire!!!

Another suggestion someone plz have a career counseling session with zayed khan, the moron cant act to save his life. He should probably become a model or something where he does not need to open his mouth.

i agree with u buddy the filim is a complete crap.
Ghai thinks he is still in the 80's 90's.
look at the same old touch in the climax... operation theater then a successful operation and a happy ending....
My be its time for him to learn the modern era direction.

Yuvvraaj is Great
by Monty on Nov 29, 2008 02:23 AM

It's a nice movie, I wonder how rediff has given it just 1.5 stars, they are biased. The picturisation is good, the costumes are good, the songs are good, actors have acted well, story too is good, could have been a better ending. But it definately doesn't deserve just 1.5. These people purposely give bad comments so that viewers don't go to halls to see the movie and then the gross earning of the movie remains below sharukh's stupid movies like KANK and DON where he is looking like a model instead of a real don. Guys watch the movie it's refreshing and good.
