stupid .... the movie was a global hit... even in india it has second highest weekend collections for an english movie
I think the rediff review has been a little too harsh. For an action movie first-timer, Marc Forster has done an excellent job, so much so that the movie is quite packed with action, especially in the first half. Undeniably, there are evidences of the Bourne series in the extensive usage of shaky cams. I think what has pissed off everyone is that Bond seems to have lost his sense of humour. Quite understandable. When all he can think of is revenge and betrayal, any kind of a typical Bond-like sarcasm would have sounded rather forced. Now that the revenge theme is out of the way, maybe he'll be back to his suave self in the next movie. Agreed, the movie was rather unconventional for a Bond flick. But Casino Royale was unconventional too. Daniel Craig does not ooze charm like the more sophisticated Brosnan. Instead he is brutal yet subtly suave that makes him more appealing than Brosnan. Quantum of Solace (and I think they couldn't have thought of a more fitting name for the revenge theme), felt rather incomplete but it has been a promising teaser to the beginning of a bigger plot. The movie has an excellent background score, amazing locations and great camera work. I would love to watch the movie again just for the breath-taking opening credits and of course, for Craig.
Bond movies have lost the fun after the last two bond movies and the bond too is not very gr8....
Earlier it was fun watching bond movies with cool gadgets and babes .. but now all has gone down... no movie fun .. no babes ..no gadget... and overall a boring bond...

I have wasted my time and money on this stupid flick. Apart from action scenes, that too in the first half, nothing is good. Worst storyline of 2008. Stay away from this .. seriously.
The movie is surely good for those who liked Casino Royale, but it certainly lacks something. The production cost of over 230mn doesn't appear anywhere. Also it is quite unthinkable that anybody can steal water and keep it locked in underground caves. This will surely increase the underground water levels which will reflect in much larger area than the catchment area of Dam.
Another superb performance from Daniel Craig !!! With his deadpan expression and hard-as-nails character he captures the very ethos of Bond we grew up reading in books.Gizmos were not a major part of Ian Fleming's books....it was the plot that was more important and the villain.....and if you ask a book worm gizmos ruin the story....Craig is the best thing to have happened to Bond capturing the very ethos of the character with his deadpan expression and the bulldog spirit which only an English man can capture.....the character Ian Fleming created, albeit a Scotsman, in his books.Brosnan as Bond was unimpressive as he was a yank and there were too many gizmos and too much smile in his acting which made the outing as if it were a lark which ruined the storyline.Craig comes as the change we desired.Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are the best portrayal of Bond.
