Kamal Haasan can be good actor, but his pronounciaton is not okay. He is the best looking actor, but never worked on scripts. Sometimes he makes scripts suit him. That is wrong with South Indian actors ( except Malayalee actors). I think Anant Nag is more versatile actor than Kamal. Second, he interferes too much in scripts, that should kept away when one is a professional. Third, undoubtedly he has come to a level of high-paid and over-rated actors but he has been influenced a lot by Dev Anand( which he has accepted too. His emotional feelings in role is understood before itself by audience, before camera, Kamal should not be too emotional like Rekha. Anyway, he is good actor, but not best. Balraj Sahni was much more natural performer than any actors. Even Naserrudin or Om Puri can not match Balraj Sahni. Can Kamal then?

I'll have to agree with Mr. Sen. Being a Malayalee myself, our actors like Mohanlal and Mammooty are definitely a lot better than kamal, who tends to even overact.
I had the pleasure of watching Anant Nag in Malayalam films and no doubt, he's one of the best India has ever produced.

Mohanlal and mammooty have nothing to do to w/making malayalees proud nor making u proud. They both ar excellent actors.
Kamal hassan have nothin to do w.making tamilians proud nor making tamil nadu proud. He is an excellent actor.
Mohanlal, mammootty, kamal hassan, om puri, nasserudin shah ar all excellent actors. All of them had diffrnt director, script, characters etc..
No actor is comparable, since each of them thrive on characters created by excellent writers and thy act well since all of thm have excellnt directors.
Why bring in "this actor is better thn tht actor". Evry1 has overacted, or not been a good actor. They have their struggles and success as an actor.
Please, don't bring in tamilians, malayalees, northies into this discussion. People ar vunerable to defnd their views once this "competition" between one's favorite actor and anothr's favorite actor.
Why don't you appreciate all talents, afterall they ar only actors and its only cinema.
Kamal stands out because of the variety of the roles he has portrayed. He is a showman supreme and wants to treat his audiences to something different in every movie, rather than sticking to one image. Great.
Many a time Mohanlal is counted with Kamal as another acting powerhouse. But rather than trying a different get-up everytime, Lal's ability is to get under the skin of a role and the sensitivity and subtlety in which he delivers. As an actor his method and style are on par with biggies like Brando and De Neiro.
But hey the article is about the one and only Kamal! Let God bless him to continue enthralling his fans through many more screen avatharams to come!
Kamal has shown the world esp. bollywood that acting/cinema comes first than earning money in crores.Ppl might argue as to whether Kamal does not charge any money for his movies or what?But if that were the case he wouldnt have made movies like devar magan,mahanadi,guna,virumandi,hey ram etc which are epitomes of tamil/indian cinema and also which enthused many people to take up acting/direction.kamal is an all rounder in all the roles that he plays and him doing 10 roles in dasavatharam is no surprise as it is everyday at the office for him.I wish him all the very best and he should contribute more to tamil/indian cinema and it's high time bollywood/tollywood/other woods of indian cinema stop making trash movies and take a leaf out of kamal's book. Enough of the same old love movies,copying english movies and making them so badly jus to show that it is a hip/slick one.We need can be original if we stick to the roots of our country/culture and so many movies can be made based on this subject in a modern way both in terms of technical epxertise and depicting mundane things we see in life! Dasavatharam is a movie that will give emphasis to modern technology and yet giving respect to nature/indian culture.It is going to become the most valuable grosser that Indian Cinema has ever seen!The scale of the audio release function held few weeks back is the curtain raiser for the success this movie is going to see.Wishing the entire Dasavatharam team all the luck in the world!God Bless

If a actor does everything normally , then he is not called as best actor as others do..Thats why Kamal does different roles Differently and he is known as the BEST ACTOR.
Kamal is one of the best actor in the world after Shivaji Ganeshan .No one else can be compared with kamal even from bollywood and hollywood. To break his records only he can do , no one else. You can see one of his best acting skills in Mahanadhi, Nayagan, Devarmagan and lots more to be counted.

Kamal is a human being like anyothr, he will grow old physically.
So wht, why do u have to waste time praying to god for tht silly reason. Any human being does not mind growing old as tht is the way of life.
Please stop this craziness of prayin to god for kamal hassan as he himself is an athiest. All kamal wishes his fan is to love his movies, he himself does not like this star worshipping and stuff like tht.

Hello Ponnusamy, Please try to understand english before commenting. The Author meant that 48 years after his first film. Kamal Hassan debuted at the age of six. So That sums to the 48 years as he is 54 now.
As an actor Kamal is the best in India. I bet no one can act like Kamal. His wide range of roles show that he is the best. All the best Kamal for your Dashavatara

He is one actor who has gone way beyond south Indian Film Industry.. even India Film Industry.... try to understand this and for heaven sake pls dont compare him with some actors who are not known by people outside their state....
He is not only a actor.. He has proved as a very goodSinger,Story writer,Lyricist,and also direction....
He says that he lives on movies and he proves it... UNLIKE your bollywood actor who endorses any lousy brand for money.........
One major prob with all of us is that wen we dont like someone we claim that he is not good... which is very bad... Pls dont underestimate his talent only bcoz u dont like him...
