Kuruvi - Failed to fly
by steve on May 05, 2008 02:48 AM

Vijay, in most of the frames fly like a superman, which is sickening. Vijay nearing the number 1 position in kollywood, should think, will people accept such kind of stunts? Now, people dislike such kinda action movements, even it%u2019s done by Superstar Rajinikanth. People are educated well and they expect something natural and impressive. If vijay continues to over-do stunts this way and speak unnecessary dialogues (eg: pechu thaan dee silent.... Aana Adi Sara Vedi), sure he will loose his title Next Superstar. Sorry Vijay Fans. We need to say the truth......

Director Dharani, who has proved his calibre in Dhil, Dhool and Ghilli has really compromised in Kuruvi. This is not a Dharanis kinda movie. Any debutant directors can direct a masala stuff and such a big team is not required. With a big banner, who are ready to spend to any extent, the director should have given us a flick worth watching again and again. It makes us wonder, why did Dharanai choose a theme of 1970s and 1980s. It will be a lesson for all the directors, who merely rely on Hero status. Who ever acts, the movie should have some life and over-do and beyond the limit heroism will never work out in future. Young new comers started to direct stylish movies, and to sustain in this feild, directors should be innovative and concentrate on reality....

Kuruvi is an international masala movie.. the drector has copied many stunt scenes of Tony Jaa's movies and the intro of vijay like hrithik's dhoom2 and so on.. i enjoyed this movie roght from the first scene till last cos of al the comedy including the dialogues, stunts without logics and songs unnecessarily joined with the core... Only god can save us from these kind of actors...

Preetha,

Lets accept that we cant change this movie anymore, Lets move on. Lets not blame Vijay for the same.

He is a good actor. Ajit and Vijay both are good in their own acting skills. Its only the director who has to make the film interesting. I feel Dharani had failed because of the expectations it generated after Ghilli.

Lets stop and move on.

Under the criteria that an actor who can act the role which the director gives it to him to satisfy majority of the public and not all of the public.

Vijay has given it all to Dharani and the Director has failed in that he cant make the film more interesting and gripping.

Even if the story is very old one the director could have made it interesting by serving it in a new bottle.

There are lots of movies with old stories and its upto the Director to create the interest in storytelling.

Recent good example of a Good movie is Yaaradi Nee Mohini eventhough the movies story is of 1950's. The storytelling was good and interesting. Even Songs and it picturisation is of equal importance for any Movie to run successfully.

In Kuruvu except the Thaen Thaen Song no song has been picturised nicely which has made the movie even worser.
