It is so sad that TV producers don;t bother to touch out own Hindi / Urdu ./ Bengali / Panjabi literature and translate them on the screen? We had best of the story lines we can even try to make it relevant by keeping the stories in todays time. Tenali Raman , Malgudi Days , Ek Khani, Darpan , Mujrim Haazir , Karmbhoomi, Nirmala , Mirza Ghalib etc were made and shown on TV in age old door darshan days. Alas no body touches such heart warming stories that depicts true Indian culture , ethoes and values. There is no iota of intellect in the SOAP OPERAS.
You forgot about one thing Neelima Madam and that is to have world best quality plastic surgeons in today's serials. I agree science has developed by leaps 'n' bounde but that doesnt mean a short-highted person becomes tall and vice-versa or a plump person becomes skinny or vice-versa and along with the face that gets tarnished in an accident (make-belief predictable mishaps that keep on occuring in every serials) the styling of teeth also changes and I thought that this is dentist's job and not of plastic surgeons. So please Ms Neelima plastic surgeons play an important role in today's meaningless soap operas and you have to give some credit to them. Not fair!
Does any one remembers the star line up of DD in early 80"s. Ramayana-the best classical epic ever reproduced in India, Sigma- the best Indian science fantasy i have seen till date,Project Tiger- Not quite Discovery Standard still a good one from Indian producers and last but not the least Bharat Ek Khoj - That taught me my history lessons. And today I can not find a serial to watch on any Indian channel on a sunday morning except the rerun of SaReGaMa RoNaDhoNa. Kahan gaye who Log aur woh serials? I am planning to watch DVD of these serials to teach my daughter- yet to be born- about what India was, what it is and what it should be.

Why are you calling Ram Khanna stupid ? He is right. Have you seen Bharat ek khoj ? Do you like the current serials more ? Only a bird brain can enjoy the Ekta Kapoor serials where 2 friends become enemies in 2nd episode, friends again in 3rd and the story repeats itself.
she is taking fake. the ten rules are 1. lot of emotion drama, camera flashing from face to face showing the progress the tears of different characters have made down the cheeks. 2. talk in carores, rich families, rich weddings, fabulous jewelry, costumes, 100 crore projects. people love it. 3. break all barriers of shrewdness and cunningness of character. people love to learn it. stealing babies, planning murders, torture. 4. beautiful girls and women only. Ugly means a girl who wears specks or has braces on her teeth or a slight tan color skin. 5. all male characters should be easily foolable. They should just be getting fooled as if they know nothing in this world while the women are fooling the hell out of them with their conspiracies. Women love this part. 6. end the days episode with an expression on the faces of all characters which says that something absolutely weird has happened and they will show u next week. Show nothing next week, start from wherever you want. People are fools they wont remember. 7. never ever have a happy ending. People love continuous tragedy to rule their lives. Happiness doesn%u2019t really excite many. 8. do something which no one can expect even if you have to marry a woman 20times. 9. don%u2019t have any consideration for the society. I guess the best serial on Indian television according to me was SIDDHANT , the one which was aired on STAR ONE and is being aired again nowadays(repeat), its a treat to watch that serial , another one is definitely SARABHAI v/s SARABHAI , such sophisticated and classy comedy .

Absolutely. I adore both the abovesaid serials. well, CHOONA HAI AASMAAN started out well and on a different note, but seems they have decided to go the routine way.
show as much as possible...extra marital affairs..each man or women shld have atleast 5-6 marriages....and increase population and absolutely there shld not be any indian family values
when this country is going to grow in this segment.....i hate this sopa verymuch....since i was a kid i use to watch all the english serial still now i do the same which is very funny and logical too....not by this brain killing indian soaps.....yaakk...........

Are bhailog is kachre ko hatho aur desh ko bachao!!!Bada aaya bachpan se khali english serials dekhnewala..Angrez chale gaye iske jaise kachre ko chhod gaye...
