I guess good movies fest of 2007 is still over flowing. Very commendable effort by Mr Subhas Ghai. Good screen play and good performances.
Looking forward to see more of this kind from Subhas Ghai. Time he made some more sensible movies like this with millions he made with Khalnayak et al.
Mr. Raja Sen ...do u even understand movies...u gave Jodha Akbar.. A Fine craft...2 & half star..and this poorly executed B & W film 3 star...U really should quit writing reviews...the movie desearves only 2 star max...

Absolutely Right. Every actor in this movie rocked. Particularly Anurag Sinha, Mind Blowing Job. Keep it up.
Poor direction, very very badly made movie, wonder what the guy was thinking while making the movie, and even more what the critic was thinking while giving it 3 stars, the movie is absolutely unbearable.
Useless dabba movie...subhash gfhai shoukld retire...now iyts a trilogy of horrid movies...kisna,yaadein n nw b & w...anyone can make such movie..no original story....ghai pls retrire n learn suntimh from chopras, johars, farhan akhtar or aamir...
Thought provoking, intriguing even if a trifle simplistically said. Kudos Mr Ghai, kudos Mr Kapoor and Ms Shah and more than kudos Mr Sinha. Touched the emotions, touched the heart.
It might be a very good movie most timely and beautifully made with required restrain. However is it necessary to continue scratching the wounds of communal happenings of the past. Be it Godhra/ Gujrat or the Sikh carnage of 1984 or the demolition of Babri Masjid. We all realise that what has happened should not have happened, it is most unfortunate. But why not allow people to forget these unfortunate episodes, rather than continuously reminding about them. I had read somewhere that some 'wonderful' concerned people want to make a museum and store the evidenences in the form of photographs and remainings of these carnages. How very 'thoughtful' they want to perpetuate the communal poison in the future generation. It is very sad. Let us try to forget them and march forward in the spirit of forget and forgive.

i would rather say one should forgive but not forget,,,coz if you forget history, you are bound to repeat it. we forget our past mistakes and keep on repeating them again and again. if we wont remember, we wont learn. so the message from the movie is very precise. for those who dont want to look into the dirty past, you should get some guts. cheers

If one has committed a crime, one must be led to face it and understand it and have a dialogue and a monlogue on it. Forget-and -move-on only puts the dust on the covers, does not wash away the crime.
Everyone has to acknowledge their mistakes and shortcomings, only then communal disharmony can be eradicated. That a racial tragedy keeps happening every few months proves that one filters and forgets , and decides to unforget when time is (un)opportune.
More facts and truths shoul dbe unearthed , so that all criminals and supporters of communal hatred should come face to face with their mistakes.
I commend movies made of these type that try to paint the reality in different shades to challenge the audience to have a dialogue.

If one reads these bulletin boards Communalism is very much alive. People constantly abuse other people of a different religion or state. It hardly seems like we all belong to one nation. The values of our pre independence heroes need to be talked about and remembered if we are to progress as a nation.

Well said.it is sad to see that learned and educated people amongst us have so much of hatred, mistrust and misunderstanding for each other. We have to forgive each other and forget, and move on. can we see the politicians are the culprits behind Godhra, behind anti North Indian agitations in Mumbai, behind what happened in Punjab? Even Mughals and mehmood Ghaznavis wre the same breed of politicians who misused their authority and power to rule. We have to forgive and forget our past. We have to vote and bring a single majority co-alition free Government which rules India for continuous five years and does something fruitful.

beautifully said thakur, look how you've gatheres all these people who agree with u, where usually most people are arguing here, about like srk being muslim and all that crap...
We have had enough of this communal movies - Why doe ths bloddy government and censor board insist on keeping peoples wounds alive by repeteadly every 6 months releasing a movie on communal tensions & communal riots.
We the people of India have had an overdose of terrorisim , communalisim . These movies do not sell . The only saving grace in this movie was the ending and the acting of Anil Kapoors wife in the movie.
Enough Bollywood - either come out with entertainers like Jab We met or social issues like Taare Zameen Par or Historicals like Jodhaa Akbar - or anti politca systems like Rang De Basanti - BUT NO MORE COMMUNALISIM & TERRORISIM.

well said ... we actually want entertainers, social, historical, adventurous movies but ... i still believe that if even a single thoughtful leader watches a movie on these issues, this could bring a radical change in him, they might want to get the basics right... hopefully this formula works ... but i agree that there is no need to remind people of communal threats and past wounds everytime!

If you are saying we do/should not make movies on communal hatred, you are a coward. What can hou know about the hurts and tragedies that people affected have suffered?
And you are callign on the govt. on this? Why? To take away freedom-of-speech and freedom-of-expr? Go listen to authors in Algeria, Iran,China, you would not say the same now, if you knew how they have to uncover the injustices while being on asylum in more freer society.
Movie itself is a pure joke highly sleep inducing slow moving farce.Only highlight of the movie is that to some extent it exposes real islam.Otherwise acting is loud and obnoxious from all the actors specially shefali shah and anil kapoor
