I bet, if rumor went that it was same old same old, cliched movie - these reviews would be about bad the film is.
by C Kr on Jul 14, 2008 06:23 PM

These ppl just try to hear rumors and then make the movie sound special on review. Yuck.

Just what was different and fantastic about this movie? NOTHING.

This is just the kind of movie that flopped so many times in the past decade. Suddenly the exact same story is a hit?

You could write the opposite - a review about what a flop it is, and it would sound right too.

PS: so easy to misread Genitalia's name as just that. Jeezus. She's been in the movies over 5 years, and is generally ordinary.

What We Deserve is what we get
by Hamzah on Jul 14, 2008 02:22 AM  | Hide replies

Making movie in India is no mean feat. When some serious topic is taken then the film flops big time audiences don't like serious cinema and eveyone wants to be entertained not lecuted. Hence people make movies like OSO and Jaane Tu and Dhoom and Partner etc. THere is nothing wrong in unpretentious stupid entetainment. No point making pseudo intellectual movie in the pretext of some social cause or art.
I personally feel Jaane Tu had a great opportunity to highlight some issues faced by the youngsters fresh out of college instead it only has one party after another and one pub after another which gives wrong impression about Urban Youth. Making Youth oriented movies should not be restriceted to junta from Bandstand to Colaba. But then Jaane Tu did not pretend to be a serious movie and it was not vulgar like Jhankar Beats another movie for so called Urban audiences.
I think now the wave will come when Hindi / Urdu / Marathi literature is adopted for movies and modified for today's generation like waht Anurag Kashyap and Sudhir Misra doing with Devdas. But how many of today's directors have the guts to remake and do justice to movies like Guide? Is their any maturity in audiences or film makers to do justice to 100 year old literature? Forget about film makers we don't have any TV producer to touch the great Indian culture and happy making sick SOAP OPERAS.
No point in crticizing Hindi movies we are getting what we deserve. I am happy for not being subjected to obscenity.

I mentioned SOAP OPERAS as TV serials as they are relatively low budget and still they don't want to risk money on literature and feeding audiences with sick OPERAS so who will risk crores to make movies.

HI, saw the movie, same old wine in new bottle.
few points to talk about:

1. Does Genelia knows how to speak in Hindi, if not then can you please improve without applying brakes while talking.
2. Why she is talking like she has got lollypop in her mouth on the right side. Have any1 noticed she speaks like she has got some problem with her mouth.
3. Imraan needs acting lessons, see him acting in jail, you can realise his acting is so weak.
4. The airhostess girl, she is totally pathetic, over acting like world queen.
5. Rest of the cast is good, look totally real people, unlike those 3.

Crap from Aamir - First time
by roopendra bhargaw on Jul 12, 2008 12:57 AM  | Hide replies

Movie making in India is like dipping the snowball in different colors and saying this taste is better!! There is nothing "notable" in this movie. Tired of watching same stories again, again and again. Thought after SRK, things would be better,But surprising the crowd always like love story. Aamir has disappointed for the FIRST time.

Swades had the same theme as Lagaan, "A good leader co-ordinating a group of men to success".. Peaople cry swades is a classic.. I dont know wat is good in the movie, except the music.
I cried after watching jodha akbar, 'I lost my money'..
hrithik training an elephant with a sword.. ha ha ha
Ashuthosh tried to imitate hollywood movies, and fortunatly it became a comedy movie..

Lagaan was good because aamir was involved.. He wqas not ready to compramise for perfection

Which dialogue u talking first of is pathetic abbas folled aamir or aamir is fooled by himself the person who give the "taare zamin par" could this kind of crap.

The story for only mumbaikers which this culture exists only in mumbai
Abbas try to portrait the youngsters using shit words and bumps so easily which doest require for lot of scenes

Aamir had no option but to come the media and give some hype

Go and watch the first of of completely and tell me this is the realtime situation based story NO its kind of a cultural damage
