The whole movie has a fresh feel in it.I have completed my college 5 years back and after i saw the movie Jaane Tu... Jaane na i felt it is some extract from my own life. It is simply wonderful, it is one of those movies which one can associate to his/ her own life.
Genelia has acted for the second time in a movie with the same story. The story of JTYJN is very similar to Genelia's launch movie Tujhe Meri Kasam with Ritesh Deshmukh.
Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, produced by Aamir Khan, has done extraordinary business in Week 1 and the collections on Friday (Week 2) was a brilliant 90%plus in many centres.
The movie made on a limited budget, without any stars to carry the movie, is a winner all the way at the box-office. The first week collections are about 20 crores and what’s more the second week could actually be even better! More shows at multiplexes and more prints in the second week could mean a marginal drop in the second week. Remember big movies usually drop by around 40% in the second week.
Imraan Khan could not have asked for a better start to his career. This is the biggest debut since Hrithik Roshan’s in the year 2000! A new star is born. For Genelia D’Souza, a star down south, who has struggled so far in Bollywood, this is a huge break. Not just the lead cast, the success of Jaane Tu has done wonders to every member connected to the movie. Abbas Tyrewala will be a director to look out for in the future, his next movie will no doubt be keenly anticipated. The supporting actors too are getting huge appreciation for their performances.
Overall, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is a success story that will be remembered for a long time.

Yet again, another remake of Mallu movie. But no credits were given............ The mallu movie is Niram directed by Kamal starring Shalini and K. Boban. It was a hit. the climax was in railway station if I remember correct.
Did the reviewer say Imran's "acting" was good. The tiny guy is all eyes and a frozen smily kinda expression on his face ALL the movie!!I bet this guy's gonna sink big time if he's given any other role apart from dumb-as-a-door-nail kinds. Also why is the story trying to say? Also what's the big hurry to "find the right person" at an age of 21.Pity poor aditis parents. Now they have a son-in-law to support too.what if the gal's "finacee" turned out to be a great guy.Well too bad we wont know coz he conviniently was an abuser.bahhh apart from a coupla songs the movie is all candy flossed with cuuuute characters.
dis movie one of d gud movies of '08....all d characters r engaging....gud acting...awesome direction...though story is bit old used in many hindi movies....but due to very gud direction makes movie fresh...every single scene is very well directed...one of d high point of dis movie is music..all d songs r enjoyable...well used in d movie..
when i went to see the movie i didn't knew its this...na jaane, so that happend.....but have to say some moments were really good apart from the whole movie....its not upto the expectations..have to improve buddies..good luck
jaane Tu......or the College Party by Rahul VA on Jul 08, 2008 06:25 PM Permalink | Hide replies
There is nothing new in Jaane Tu.
A lousy and totally predictable movie. It seems that someone shot when some college kids were having party and that footage is shown as a movie in theatres.
pity hindi film's standard. And all these north indians only needs hindi movies for oscars.

and which movies are good for the oscars, exactly? rajnikanth ones? or the ones where fat women run around wearing skimpy clothes and singing songs for even fatter south indian heroes?

their are far better movies with "real" stories and with more natural acting down south which deserve to be sent to Oscars, common man who the hell sent movies like "paheli" and "eklavya" to oscars which were big flops in INDIA itself. be realistic, just because HINDI is our national language ,don't mean only HINDI cinema can be sent to Oscars, one should consider other regional cinema too, be it be Marathi, telugu,Kannada or Oriya etc.

of course there are such movies. i remember, adoor gopalakrishnan's movies were excellent. even mani ratnam has made some superlative stuff. and it's a crying shame that they were not sent to oscars. we never send movies which have a outside chance of winning the oscar, we only send movies which are paid for by the producers. but the oscars committee sees through that easily. which is why, inspite of never being nominated for a single movie by his own country, satyajit ray was honored with a lifetime achievement award by them. i was just kidding abt the song and dance thing. no offense meant.
Imran is boring...Aamir has lOst sense ..tht he is working on Such stories.. Aamir should have launched him as HERO..but he CANT DANCE, Doesnt have Physique, Average Looks.. Looks Sick Pappu .. Just IMPROVE to be in competition IMRAN....... u disappointed.
