I sincerely feel that Rediff should discontinue having message boards, so that rediff users stop fighting against each other over silly issues. Britishers had a divide and rule policy, but I guess even after 60yrs of independence, we Indians haven't learned anything!!

Yes it is true. We are the most racist people in world - even dont accept ppl from other states. And rediff wants cheap publicity. Shun it!

In deepika padukone's website "deepikapaukone.com". This kind of article came out, but in tht article they speculated tht ash&deepika would not work in robo, since they are fans of mani ratnam. So, all these articles ar just speculations. Last time we ended w/a newcomer in both heroine's role and villains role. Tht ws totally against the speculations that had names i.e ash for the leading lady, and big b, mohanlal, and mammooty for the villain. Wonder wht happens in nxt few years whn the movie is finally rdy to srt shooting.
the main problem with bollywood is, they are less indian and more westernised, whereas regional films still have local flavour and appear as if indian. example, they cant produce a movie like chandramukhi(im not talking of quality, which 99%of indian movies dont have or care to have),but presentation, where all female characters wore only saree and blouse and no other dress.

Includin their tryin to reach the level of hollywood, makin b-wood recognized. Just for recognition's sake movies i.e dhoom, krish and othr of their technical movies ar not doin any good. Also just for recog.'s sake turnin more into westrnized and showin west tht india is all abt this and such, is just plain pretendin. In u.s thy have excllnt sci-fi authors and most movies have elements basd on those books, none of the writers in hollywood hav tht much talent as the authors of sci-fi novels. Thts part of their culture in tht genre of movies. In japanese, stunts i.e seen in crounchin tiger an othrs ar part of their culture. B-wood is showin nothin of indian culture and its all abt pretendin to be someone while thy ar not. No wondr javed akthar said b-wood is a culture and country in itslf separatd from india. Also nandita das said, b-wood does nt reprsnt 1% of india.
1.He is a marathi from karnataka not a tamilian. 2.he is known for his humility and gentlemanship. 3.he never abused his popularity for his personal needs. 4.he never endorsed his popularity in advertising to make money. 5.he clearly balances his onscreen mega image and offscreen medicore image. 6.he has donated more than 50%of his money to poor and needy.

I know her first film ws w/mani ratnam, shankar, and rajiv menon. But i am not sure bollywood "rejected" her, since she ws alrdy livin and studyin durin her college and ad days in bombay. Also, in her first film ther ws not tht much to expect from ash in terms of acting, since it ws abt mohanlal&prakashraj thru the whole film. There are are no miss worlds&universes tht got their career rolling in actin in tamil films only, ther wer only ther for special appearnces and songs. Since tht is the ticket to bollywood anywys.

definetly bollywood never took her seriously. her first film was supposed to be a hindi remake of tamil movie thota chinungi(karthik, raghuvaran and revathy), but the movie never took off and released only by 2001 in hindi(played respectively by salman shahrukh and madhuri). in that film ash was given a small role of a blind woman, played in tamil by rohini.
