Terrible loss...
by Nameless on Feb 28, 2008 07:28 PM

It is a terrible loss for Tamil readers. He was a trendsetter and changed the course of short story writing. My heartfelt condolences to his family for this irreplacable loss...

For your Kind Information,
Sujatha alias Rangarajan did his BSc Physics in Tiruchi St Joseph's College, a catholic institute.Even APJ AbdulKalam did his BSc there. In south India, christain missionaries are generally responsible for social upliftment. They opened the gates of their schools, colleges and hospitals for common people. That's why south is better off in educational and social development than rest of India. But these TamBrams highly caste chauvinistic, cunning, crooked and highly exploitive.Look Chennai IIT.They suppressed common tamils for centuries in many ways. In Tenkasi, RSS people blasted a bomb in their office just to victimise muslims and get the sympathy of people. But it did'nt work. It will not.Christian missionaries are far better than RSS fellows.

Great Loss
by Saravanan Rajan on Feb 28, 2008 07:12 PM

I was shocked on hearing this news.

Someone quoted him as he is the Writer among the scientists, Scientist among the writers. And, that%u2019s really true.

I have been reading his novel, short stories from my school days and I cant say how much I was inspired by his writing. I spread my interests to my friends and family and now they are also Sujatha fans. Being a person from electronics background, his stories mostly law-based. %u2018Silicon sillupurachi%u2019 in 70%u2019s was unforgettable book.

Still I could remember the day I met him in my college day in 1988 and his speech about future India

Hey Ganesh, Vasanth %u2013 You both missing your creator

His writings ever be here

Deep condolences to his family and may his soul rest in peace

-RS RAJA

you are right. I have seen in Chennai mostly hindus attending church gatherings.
On top of this DMK karunanidhi claims there is no Ram; imagine Shahi Imam telling muslims there is no Allah??

AK
MISS YOU
by AK on Feb 28, 2008 07:00 PM

In his first article in vikatan - he criticised Indians working abroad and not serving the country. One of his fan replied that both his sons are in the US!. He published the mail and said that he appreciate the Indians who work in India and are building our nation and said that they are the heros and not his sons. He said that he thought that his sons will return from US after their higher studies and will serve for India but they settled over there inspite of his interest. He quoted Infosys Narayan Murthy, Abdul Kalam (his class mate - before when he was President of India) as heros when compared to his sons. Its difficult for a parent to criticize their children publicly. 1) He first demoed the voting machine and went till supreme court & the parliament to prove that its fail proof. Rajiv Gandhi helped him for this achievement
2) He pens story easily - Indian (from Kamal) was an idea from Sujatha and Kamal - the line of the story is in 2 lines..what happens if an old man changes the nation? That's indian!!
Miss you Sir!!

Great loss
by Srini on Feb 28, 2008 06:50 PM

This message is for those who dont know about Sujatha but take the pain of reading this message to know about him

Sujatha is an electronic engineer by profession and used to work for Bharat Electronics. He use to juggle his carrier between electronics reasarch and tamil litreature. Apart from writing, he used to contribute to Tamil cinema also occationally. After retirement he devoted full time to writing and Tamil cinema.

What makes him so unique is his style of writing and the kind of subjects he choose to write. He explained about computer operating system to masses in simple words when computer were not that popular. His stories caried science fiction which are becoming reality these days. Also he was verdy bold in handling some of the subject which were taboo to discuss about like caste system, personality cult and the vulnerability of middle calss families.

His writing are so popular because of his style. There will not a single line in his novel which you will find as unnecessary. Each line will move the story a little bit. He will pack so many things within a single page, such will be the speed of his writing. More over the words he uses will be so striking so that once you read the story you will not forget it for your life time.

His speciality was short stories, there will be no sentiment in his stories but when you read his short stories about child abuse or the evils of land mine in Afghanistan you will be in tears.

Now, I cant stop crying on his death.
