The movie is nothing like memento, in memento, the protagonist kills his own wife, in ghajni the gangster kills his girlfriend and he seeks revenge, totally different even every scenes

Gajani is making world records. 100 lakh rupees in 1st week. This will beat Shivaji in 2 weeks. Amir will be Rajanikant of Hindi belt from now onwards a status never ever in hindi happended before even by Amitabb or Akshay kumar ( the action heros). SRK and other kahns may have gone for cover now.

You must be an ardent Aamir Khan fan and it seems that your blind devotion has completely taken hold over your senses. To describe 'Ghajini' as "probably the best movie of the century" is utter nonsense and gross exaggeration to say the least, Mr. Daswani. It is a very routine, typical formula / masala Bollywood film with loads of blood and gore. The only saving grace, in all fairness,is Aamir Khan's fine acting... but that's about it really and that by itself is simply not enough to elevate it into an above average / good category.

Mr.Rajesh, and you must be an ardent fan of gay srk that just like gay srk you cannot stand any other actor or movie being better.

No matter how hard you try... you cannot change the verdict thats written all around you. Aamir Khan beat you gay srk by a huge margin this time.

Ghajini has broken all the records and you are in denial... This movie is going to be the best movie of the century !!!

Rajesh Ray, feel sorry for you as you are so in denial and in a miserable state of mind because of Aamir's success :)

Well thats good news... all of you fans of sr(gay)... should scram... hehe

Dear Mr.Daswani,

WHERE in my first comment did you read anything about SRK...so why are you jumping to conclusions? By the way, how do YOU know that SRK is indeed gay? I wonder whether you've had a first-hand experience !

There can be no doubt in anyone's mind that Aamir Khan is a fine actor and has done a wide variety of roles in his career, and has done a good job personally in this film too (he was particularly good in 'Lagaan','Sarafarosh' and 'TZP').But the fact remains that this ('Ghajini') is a very average formula movie in terms of its story... it is a typical potboiler where one can figure out the rest of the film / ending in the very first reel itself ! It is basically a film meant to appeal to the baser instincts of the masses, who don't have the mental capacity / aesthetics to appreciate anything more subtle / classy (perhaps you too are one of them; your hysterical and utterly illogical response seems to suggest that, I'm afraid).

Finally, box office success is not necessarily an indicator of the intrinsic quality of a film. After all there is no dearth of crazy fans in the world !Nevertheless it is good that the film has succeeded commercially for all those involved...particularly for Aamir who had to resort to absurd lengths to promote / hype up the film pre-release (giving haircuts, etc.); perhaps he knows within himself that all that extra effort was indeed required as the basic product (i.e., the film)itself was just about of average quality !

Mr.Rajesh RayGay,

Only SR(GAY), Karan Johar and his fans are against the success of Ghajini.... :)

If you think Ghajini is average quality, then this is only your opinion. We got your opinion. But look around you and in this blog... majority have loved the movie and watched it more than once.
If you found the movie average, then it doesn't mean that the movie is average... opinion varies :)

My opinion is that this is the best movie of the century ! o yessssss
And surely it is none of your business in interfering in my opinion.
It just shows you can't control your jealous gayish feelings as you seem to be such a woman who needs to over-express your feelings and get over emotional about people making good comments of Ghajini.

You obviously show that in your comments and want to enforce it on whom-so-ever wants express their well wishes for Aamir Khan...

To answer your question, You don't need to state you are a SRGAy fan... its written all over between the lines. You keep changing your name and show support for SRGay in your previous comments...
Sometimes you are Rajesh ray... sometimes Niki...

But too bad as it ain't working... because this movie has made history and there is nothing you can do about except rant over your bullsh.t poetic comments...

The whole world knows Sharukh is a gay and lives in with Karan Johar... thats doesn't mean the whole world has slept with him to find out he is a gay...(maybe in your case is different ? :)

Cheers !!

Numero Uno????
by Shankar Shankar on Dec 31, 2008 09:57 PM  | Hide replies

I am from South India and have watched the movie in Tamil and Hindi. Both are awesome. Rab ne is also a good watch. Shah rukh though works with the same team seems to be little scared to experiment. Aamir khans marketing was totally different it gets great response..because he comes on TV only if his movies release and Shah rukh is on TV everyday and his marketing will have less impact. If the fans and the producers are happy that is enough No need to fight as who is number one. Great sportsmen do not fight for number one positions. It should come to them like how Big B and rajnikanth earned. Only dissapointed to know Akshay is also in the race. An average actor. Might have given few hits from South Indian comedy remakes. He is known as Action Khiladi must give hits with action movies to stand along with AAmir and srk.. what do you all think?????

Why hostility towards akshay, he does comedy flawlessly, and works hard, and has proved himself in variety of genres, he just needs a good serious film offer which he has line up, Eight by 10 and Deepa Mehta's hollywood project komagata Maru. He also played a good villain in Ajnabee.

ghajini breaking all records
by aaryan on Dec 31, 2008 11:48 AM  | Hide replies

For all those who have been trying to tag Akshay as Bollywood’s ‘King’ for the year 2008, there’s news. Reports reveal that Aamir Khan starrer ‘Ghajini’ is raking in big money not only in India, but abroad as well. The film’s collection has already equalled the collection of big hit of the year ‘Singh Is Kinng’, which opened with Rs 900 million worldwide.

And the pace at which ‘Ghajini’ is bagging millions, Industry Pundits suggest that the film would end up becoming the biggest hit of 2008, breaking the records of Bollywood’s highest grossers of the year, including Akshay’s ‘Singh is Kinng’. It is also being anticipated that with the way Aamir’s film is going, it may collect Rs 1.40 billion by the end of second week of its run.

In just five days since its release, ‘Ghajini’ has collected revenues totalling USD4 million (about Rs 200 million), taking its total worldwide collections to nearly Rs 900 million.

According to BIG Pictures, Reliance BIG Entertainment Ltd (RBEL), the distributors of the film in 22 countries, opened with USD0.92 million in the Middle East, followed by North America with USD1.4 million and Australia with USD254,000.

Mumbai, Dec 31, 2008: Ghajini has emerged as the biggest hit of the year 2008. It has grossed Rs 100 crore within five days of its launch. The Indian film industry that did not see any mega hit till the yearend, has a clear winner in Ghajini.

Though the film had some competition from Shah Rukh Khan starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and also from Akshay Kumar’s last big release Singh is King when it came to box office collections, but Ghajini certainly has the last laugh.

Industry insiders say that within less than a week Aamir Khan and Asin starrer film has already grossed more than Rs 100 crore.

Estimates say that the film is on its way to be the greatest hit of Bollywood in terms of money it may gross. The film is poised to become first rupees one billion movie. But many say it may gross a lot more than many had initially believed.

1. Romance track was good.
2. Asin did good job, although she did try to emulate Sridevi and Revathi from yesteryears.
3. Aamir was mind-blowing. He must have practiced his facial expressions in front of the mirror umpteen times. And boy! he got it correct.
4. His angry body was used perfectly in violence. Just brute power. Raja Sen was thinking kung-fu or something....
5. Jiah Khan was a tad grudging, but she got a better written role.
6. Dialogues were fresh
7. Comedy was fresh
8. Not much focus on clothing, which was even better.
9. And Aamir can still romance, and I love it.

best review of ghajini on internet

In these hard economic times, if your 2009 New Year Resolution is to cut back on wasteful spending and save money for the rainy days ahead, we suggest you start in the fading days of 2008 by skipping this piece of stolen junk called Ghajini.
Yes, the Hindi Ghajini is the same stolen piece of sh#& that director and thieving sw1ne A.R.Murugadoss palmed off as his creation in its Tamil predecessor.
Many of the similarities we pointed out in the Tamil version between Ghajini and the Hollywood classic Memento are to be found in the Hindi version as well. We won’t refer to the similarities again here but you may see the list of copied scenes here.
The Hindi Ghajini’s story here hews mostly to the Tamil Ghajini, which Murugadoss stole from Memento.
Aamir Khan Disappoints
While Ghajini is a crude piece of sh#% compared to the masterpiece Memento, the bigger disappointment here is Aamir Khan’s mediocre performance. With his torturous overacting in frame after frame, Aamir Khan left us in a fury of frustration
Whether in the stunt scenes as he bashes up more than a dozen guys or the romantic song/dance scenes or when he first tells Kalpana in the bus that he loves her or when he screams in the hospital as he peruses his diary, Aamir Khan flounders and flounders and flounders.

contd...
When Aamir Khan gets angry in Ghajini, it’s with the ugly intensity of a neanderthal; when he smiles in romantic scenes with his teeth showing and lower lips bent inwards, it’s with the deportment of a retard; when he sings/dances, he excites as much interest as the blind singer on Indian railway platforms.
In short, Aamir Khan is painful to behold in Ghajini; And even more painful when we consider that we are shelling out mucho moolah to see this kinda nonsense.
In not one scene did we see Aamir Khan do more than go through the motions of acting.
Asin - Same Tormentor
Asin is the same beastly tormentor in the Hindi version of Ghajini version. To waste any space on this bimbette would be a waste of our time and yours.
Jiah Khan
Compared to that hideous monster Nayantara in the Tamil version, Jiah Khan did a reasonable job as the medical student getting involved in the male protagonist’s life because of her interest in short-term memory issues.
Other Stuff
Pradeep Rawat has done a better job as the villain in the Hindi version. Also, the final fight scene was not as horrendously crude as in the Tamil film with the twin villains.
With tighter editing, the 3-hour movie could have been cut short by about 20-25 minutes.
Music
Although music in Ghajini is above average, the picturization of all the songs were below par. Safe to Skip Ghajini
As we said at the outset, in these hard economic times to waste money on a stolen stinker like ghajini
