Ghajini Promos

The Ghajini promos bear a faint resemblance to Matt Damon in "THE BOURNE IDENTITY".

Maybe, like the BOURNE series, Aamir may plan for subsequent sequels.

there is nothing wrong in aamir saying he didn't udnerstand memento...no one knows the real answer ecept the director or the pshycitrists familiar with that kind of amnesia.

nolan has never revealed memento's plot.there are lots of confusion over the plot.no film critic as far i know claims he knws the full answer.

what have you understood that other's haven't?

i myself have my probable answers.not certain ones.

if you think teddy killed the wife, you are certainly wrong.hint: the hero is a mental patient

Satya..first up..it would be better if you warn the people who might read the post that you are going to reveal the plot...

second, Memento is not as ambigous as you think it is. It has a very tight script and the answer is right there.

The critics can't dissect the movie the way the director does, he sees nd understnds from his approach only. So they obviously do nt have an answer since the critic has to spend time w.the movie alot more thn jst doin his job.

The reason i didn't understnd the movie or majority of friends did is b.c its jst boring nd not knowin the disease tht the character has is the biggst reason people dont undrstnd this movie.

You have to dissect the movie in a way tht a cop does, put ur self in tht position to understnd the how the victim gt killed nd who is the killer.

Honestly, people includin me don't have patience to dissect the movie nt jst understnd it.

The main protaginist has himself killed his wife by insulin overdose.....
Teddy uses hero's amnesia to make him kill a drug dealer.....
Teddy has made hero kill a police officer he had bad relations with, thinking tht this would help hero get closure, tht his wife's killer is now dead...

But this doesnt happen, because after killing Leonard doesnt remember tht he has "avenged"(as staged by teddy) his wife's murderer...

So every time he forgets he has killed, he needs a new scapegoat, whom he can murder to get his wife's revenge....

But in the end he gets to know tht killer is no one else but himself....

So he kills Teddy for using hi mental condition for his gain....

how do we know whcich parts of teddy's claims are true?(aaprt from the diabetes stuff)

how does the hero remember insulin overdose after the attack?

what actually happened in the attack on his wife?

are ther attackers really dead?

"But in the end he gets to know tht killer is no one else but himself...."

he won't remember that after 15 mins.

Leonard knows he wont remember tht Teddy has used him once he gets another bout of amnesia so he kills Teddy before he forgets....

The hero doesnt directly remember insulin overdose, but its etched in his memory like it had happnd to sum other couple....

Fr remaining answers u cn chk out Memento's official website....its a movie which has been made a study for psychology students...so I guess a little bit of the ending will always be opend fr ur own interpretation....

leonard may just be angry that teddy told him some uncomfortable things like his wife's condition and his injection.

he marks teddy for death by marking his car plates as "john g" which would certainly return teddy's details.

there is no "other couple". leonard was sammy jankis all along.

no. my questions have never been answered.

"its a movie which has been made a study for psychology students"

that's the point. i know zilch about psyhcitatry or anterograde amnesia and i am far from sure about my intrepretations. many others are in the same boat.

what i have are probable answers.i can't be sure more information won't contradict my conclusions.

Thats true.....its been made study fr psycholology students to see how different ppl cum up wth different interpretations abt it....

Like thr's also the ever-disturbing question, tht is Leonard really that innocent after doing so many killings....meaning if he really does not remember past killings, why doesnt he take polaroid of his killings so that he cn remember th next time...

Sum ppl r of th view tht he's bcum so consumed wth vengeance and killings, tht he himself destroys evidence of his kills, so tht he cn kill anew the next time....

And tht's y th one time, he feels uncomfortable wth Teddy's talks, he marks him as non-trustworthy, so that, frm thn on whnever he Teddy tried to tell him the painful truth, he cn ignore it conveniently.....

Am still not sure abt these opinions though...

Read Aamir's blog by the way. He conveniently states that Ghajini has nothing to do with Memento, and that he thought Memento was too hard to understand. So much for the intellectual image that Aamir khan tryies so hard to portray.

The movie demands to be rewatched. It is that brilliant. And yes, you can enjoy every time you watch it.

"see movie to enjoy it but not for any research work...

Then you probably should not be defending Ghajini the way you have been doing. Honestly!

JGN,

Have I seen Memento?? Yes, many times. As i said earlier in one of my posts, its not the easiest of plots to grasp adter just one viewing.

I would recommend you watch Memento again, with subtitles. Then refer to the movie's website, (i strongly recommend not to open the site before watching the movie) and then go on to imdb.com, type in ghajini and read the FAQs and other plot revelations there. Trust me, it is worth it.

The greatest thing about the movie is that it is almost flawless, with no loopholes at all.

Well, here is the long list of similarities between Memento and Ghajini:

1. Both movies deal essentially with the story of a young man suffering from an unusual disability - the inability to form new memories for longer than a few minutes (As Leonard Shelby explains in Memento to the motel clerk: If we talk for too long, I’ll forget how we started).

2. Both movies focus on a young male protagonist who is extremely focused on extracting revenge for the murder of his loved one (wife in the case of Memento and girlfriend in Ghajini).

3. Both movies have a male protagonist whose short-term memory problems are caused by a violent blow to the head as he rushes to save his wife/girlfriend from a brutal attack.

4. Both movies highlight the use of tattoos by the protagonist on his body as a technique to remember important facts because it’s a permanent way of keeping a note (as Leonard says in Memento).

While the above four points indisputably demonstrate the major similarities between the two movies, there are similarities galore between Memento and Ghajini.

By the way, similarities in plain English means copying by Murugadoss because Memento (2000) came much earlier to Ghajini (2005).

Keep in mind that these are not coincidences but carefully planned and executed theft by the thieving swine Murugadoss. All for a few silver coins.

Here is more evidence of theft by the makers of Ghajini:

5. Both movies have the protagonist using a polaroid camera t

but the script, plot are different. hence it certainly qualifies as a inspired version.memento is about the mental patient the hero conditioning himself to manipulate his memory.the desi versions don't delve into any of that amnesia. they are straightforward story of revenge.

a few of your points are hilarious.

"Both movies feature a woman who helps the male protagonist in ultimately killing the murderer (Natalie in Memento and Chitra in Ghajini).

10. Both movies feature a bloody murder by the male protagonist in the first 15 minutes or so"

these are intended to exagerrate the copy argument.

Well Aamir is also trying to improve his image by saying that Ghajini's isnt related to Memento....
He's is exaggerating whn he makes comments which seem to give viewers impression tht he doesn't know abt Memento...or he doesnt understand Memento....

Memento isnt such an complicated movie....so either he's not the intellectual he portays himself to be, or he's just trying to con the viewers, so tht they dont get to know that so many scenes have been as it is lifted frm Memento.....

Also, Ghajini is 3 hours long....and Memento was hardly 2 hours long.....so they'd hve to put 1 hour of song dance and other drivel action sequences....tht doesnt make Ghajini an original

i consider how much effort the director did for his new script. despite the lifting of tattoos and polaroid, he had to work on a new script and plot with new characters.

that's why i a saying its not a copy though certain key
items were lifted directly.

aamir is intelligent no intellectual...there is a difference.

and even if you are talking about being a intellectual, familiarity and experience in the field matters.
thinking with expertise and experience is the key. that's why i am sceptical about companies using puzzles.that's thinking without expertise and experience in a field.
