Tamil superstar Rajnikant will compensate distributors of his film "Kuselan", to the tune of Rs.100 mn, sources close to the actor said.
A spokesman for the distribution company Pyramid Saimira, which is showing the film across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, said the movie had so far collected Rs.210 mn.
He was confident of "Kuselan" covering the costs of Rs.600 mn before being taken off theatres.
The company, however, was noncommittal about accepting the compensation.
While the star did not charge any fee from the Tamil producer and his mentor K. Balachander, the Telugu version's producers had paid Rajnikant a fee of Rs.100 mn.
The movie icon had on Friday recommended several cuts to improve the collections of the movie. The matinee idol had extended a similar courtesy after one of his earlier films "Baba" ran into huge losses.
I heard that Rajini returning money to distributors. And distributors to Theaters and heard Sathyam theatre is returning 50% money to fans who watched this movie if you return your ticket or watch Rajni's next 2 movies free of cost. (can hear alarm bells ringing in Robot's producer..150 crores...sathiyama yellu.already this kind of hindi movie 2050 is a big flop). Rajini can join chiranjeevi's party. It is soon going to be END OF RAJINI, the madness.
if he is such a gem, then y the f he charges so much for his movies? he shud instd distribute himself. or ask for a share in the profits (if any). 1st of all he charges so much and then d producers have no option but 2 sell it at a huge price, and smal time distributors hopin that it wud b a hit borrow loans for huge interest sell properties etc. so tell u so called "super star" 2 b sensible. for ur info sivaji was forcefully run and still ppl dint get their money back thats y wen he signed the movie he wanted 2 compensate by recomeding thoz distributors again 2 d producers and 2 their bad luck yet another disaster. no don cal me jelous bla bla.... be sensible for a change.

watever rajni does, good or bad , ppl like u will see only in the wrong way if some flop actor like salman khan or amitabh can charge 10 crs for a movie, why not a superstar charge 25 cro take his list from 1993, only baba and kuselan flopped, rest all from annamalai till sivaji everything is a blockbuster.. BTW, he is just an actor who gets his salary for wat he acts, but he shuld return the money back to distributors all the actors has given flop, how many have returned the money ? baba was his production thatz why he returned the money to producers, even though kuselan is produced under kavithalaya and he returned the money .. He is a person who dosent want anybody to go on loss if they make a movie with him .. and fyi.. he didnot get anything as salary for kuselan tamil version, only to telugu version he got 25 crs.
